About me

Hello there! My name is Anthony and I'm an ENNIE Award winning game designer for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. If you like a strong narrative and complex, interesting stories and worlds, I'm the DM for you. All of my games feature a strong narrative but that's only part of the story. I love integrating the ideas of my players into the game we are playing as much as possible. Without collaboration, the game is just not as much fun! I bring my design experience into all of my games. If you want to do it, we'll find a way to make it happen with the rules. Or we'll customize and make it up together. I want players to always feel like they are playing the game they want to play. I'm an all inclusive GM who is as comfortable helping newcomers learn the ropes or experienced players try new things. So let's tell some stories together!

GM Style

Most games that I run have a strong narrative backbone. Something is happening, and the players will be thrust into the middle of it. For games that award XP, this means I always use a Milestone XP system. It allows for character growth, both in narrative and in power, to happen organically. I consider every game I run a collaborative effort between me and the players to tell an interesting story. I always want to integrate character backstories into the world in interesting, unexpected places. My goal is to always make my players feel like their characters are immersed in the game world, and that their decisions have an impact. Because I have a background in design, customizing the game to the player's wants is something I am always open too. I want you to have the experience that you are looking for. Sometimes this requires a compromise but I always try to provide a path to what a player desires for their character. This customized design philosophy also applies to combat and other challenge scenarios. I try to layer in details that allow the players to do more than attack until the hit points are gone. Strange abilities, environmental puzzles. I don't use these as gotcha moments, but as a way to create interesting and unique encounters and situations for players to experience.
