About me

Hello! I've been playing TTRPG's off and on for my entire life but never settled on one in particular. I am, I would say, old school and have a lot of AD&D2e materials. As a player I've played some really obscure games that many haven't even heard of. Have you ever played Elf Quest? Ringworld? Well anyways, I am approaching retirement age and have started to relive most of my teenage years as far as gaming goes. Recently I brought my AD&D down from the attic and started reading through them. I joined a few games here on Start playing to get a feel for things and started buying materials on Fantasy Grounds Unity with the intention of becoming a Dungeon Master once again. Recently I became more motivated than usual and decided to look into some other rulesets. I dabbled in Pathfinder 1e, Castles & Crusades and now D&D 5e. I want to like PF1 the most but I find it overly complicated. There is just too much. C&C seems very easy and streamlined and I think I'd like to play more of that but it is missing a few things I need. This brings me to 5e. I am currently adapting World of Warcraft (classic) to TTRPG for my own purposes. This is not going to be for sale or even provided to the public. Because of some of the game elements in World of Warcraft I decided that D&D 5e was the best and easiest choice. So here we are. I like to tell stories and theater of the mind is where most of the game will take place. Maps and images will be supplied of course but you shouldn't count on an over abundance of show don't tell. I tend to do the opposite. I have very little, as of this writing, recent experience dungeon mastering and I have almost zero experience with 5e so I will be learning as I go. Keep this in mind. If you expect me to know the rules off the top of my head, you will be very disappointed. I DM for tips. Any money I receive will be put back into purchasing materials and books for the various rulesets I have an interest in.

GM Style

Medium Soft on the role play but enjoy telling a good story. You can expect a lot of theater of the mind. I do not do silly voices however. Tactical combat? YES! But also stick to the idea of being an adventurer. Haunted house on a cliff overlooking the ocean? Entire module is based on you exploring the house? You want to just burn the house down you say? Sorry, this is not the place for you lol. Player agency is important to a point. Most stories are pretty linear but can absorb some 'off the trail exploring'. However I will remind you to get back on track if it gets too bad.
