About me

I've been running chronicles for about 25 years straight. I have run more than 20 campaigns, half of which ran once a week for more than a year. I'm currently narrating two 5e chronicles. One has been running for 4 years and the other for 2 years. I am fully versed in the lore of Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Darksun, Birthright, Planescape, Ravenloft, and a decent slice of Eberron. I have no qualms about narrating major NPCs from these settings and do a lot of research beforehand to get them right. I am a strong advocate of running campaign settings "as they are", meaning I put my own spin on things but I don't seriously alter the lore of these settings and I know enough about them to bring them to life. I enjoy low-level play but am "best" at running mid to high-level campaigns. I have no qualms about "adopting" experienced characters from other campaigns which ended for one reason or another, as long as you don't mind a stiff challenge. I don't use maps or miniatures. All combat in my campaigns is "theater of the mind", with simple descriptions of battlegrounds and strong concessions for reasonable tactics and good role-playing. I have a system I use for this, and it is robust enough that classes with a strong positioning mechanic (sneak attack, etc.) are not penalized. My games do have an element of humor, but they tend to be gritty. I incorporate plot elements like weather, politics, war, and so on to create a realistic experience. Impulsive players who do reckless or illegal things should expect NPCs to react accordingly. If this sounds good to you, look me up. =)

GM style

I love to roleplay. I do lots of voices and am very good at them. I enjoy fast-paced Minds Eye Theater combat with no maps or miniatures. I am fully versed in all the classic D&D campaign settings and can do most of them justice with little preparation. My games are gritty and realistic, with all the trappings of life in the eras I narrate. That means violence and danger actually feel like violence and danger. I like low-level play but truly shine with mid to high-level parties. I'm fine with "adopting" experienced characters from other games with other DM's. I expect my players to be mature and well-adjusted. That means no showboating, abusive behavior, backstabbing party members "in character", etc. Try to be great players and I'll try to be a great DM. I prefer to use Discord.
