About me

Hi there! I'm a Dungeon/Game Master with over 20 years of experience, running most of the game systems you have heard of (D&D 5th, Pathfinder, Vampire, and other d8/d6 systems. As a DM/GM, I specialize in cinematic storytelling and gameplay. What does that mean? Well, I put a lot of effort into building and running games with narration that makes exploration, combat, and exploration feels like your favorite fantasy/sci-fi novel or movie. As we play together I want you to feel what your character feels, experience the world they live in, and get an adrenaline rush from whatever challenges your character faces. at some point in our game, I want you to visualize your character on a movie poster or the cover of an epic book. To make this happen, spend a crazy amount of time studying game mechanics and storytelling, then figuring out ways to blend them together into some unique. GM Style

CINEMATIC ROLE PLAY! I LOVE gripping storytelling that makes the characters, situations, and world come alive. I attempt to create narratives that really immerse everyone at the table. I use music, artwork, and voice modulation to amplify the experience. I specialize in cinematic adventure (e.g., Indiana Jones), horror (Modern Horror, Gothic Horror), and thriller/drama (think the Boys). PLAYERS COME FIRST! Without YOU, there is no game. I take player backgrounds and concepts seriously and weave the into the game experience. Expect me t go through your character backstory with a fine comb and create NPCs, encounters, and RP scenarios around your character. If you have a character concept you want to explore, let's see how we can make it work! Oh ... and I'm friendly to the "Rule of Cool!" THE DM COMES SECOND! I put this here to stress that after players' needs are met, I do ensure that the DM "referee hat" comes on. I take pains to make sure everyone plays fair and I expect all players to observe the authority of the DM. Expect me to stick to the rules, create guidelines for any customizations, and try to challenge your characters through the mechanics! SAFE! From session 0 and onward, I take special care in making sure the game is inclusive, comfortable, and enjoyable for everyone! I expect respectful and responsible behavior from everyone at the table and I make every attempt to make sure each player at the table feels good about the party makeup and how they will be treated! I have an "open-door" policy for any player concerns and I make every attempt to rectify issues! COMBAT, RP, EXPLORATION, AND MORE! Expect 40% combat, 40% roleplay, and 20% exploration/puzzle/problem-solving. Obviously, some sessions have more o one experience than the other, but it all rounds out! THEATER OF THE MIND OR MAPS? In the age of VTT, it's never been easier to map situations! I prefer using VTT maps and all their bells and whistles to make sure characters can use their abilities strategically. Regardless, some scenarios are better left to the imagination.
