Running a magic school themed mystery-solving game.

GM Style

I believe in the god given right of my players to spend an entire hour bickering over which way to go. Exactly one hour. Then something really bad might suddenly happen. I believe that every character should be allowed to have whatever silly accent their authors had in mind, even if its awful, offensive and barely consistent. I respect player choice, no matter how bad it is. I believe in dice, for they, not the GM, are the ultimate authority. I believe in rule of cool, and so I create my own systems where it reigns supreme. The more important the encounter, the more attention we pay to mechanics, but we will not always do everything by the book (to save us all time). If I forgot some rule, I will not retcon 2 turns of combat to fix it, unless it would help the players, in which case I'll figure out a way to compensate them. I believe in low HP bars and short fights with high-stakes rolls. In practice however, fights typically do take awhile, but never a whole session. I believe in complete player freedom to do anything they please. But do keep in mind... Your time is running out... (I meant to say that in character, and with a sinister voice)
