About Dave
Howdy folks! I consider myself a storyteller and I love introducing people to the cooperative storytelling capabilities of tabletop games. One of the greatest pleasures a GM can have is the experience of walking someone through their first game and hearing what almost always inevitably follows "Wow! That was more fun than I thought it would be!". I enjoy teaching new players how to play, and discovering new and wonderful adventures with well experienced players at the same time. My goal is to leave you with a story you can't wait to tell your friends, whether that be a tale of epic heroics and drama, or laugh out loud hysterics, it all depends on what kind of story you'd like to create with me. How Dave runs games
Fun is the focus. Knowing the rules is important, but this isn't a test to see how much of the sourcebooks you can memorize. No matter, the edition, no matter specific rules, the heart and soul of TTRPG's is always the same. I take a laid back approach to rules as long as the party is having fun and keeping with the spirit of the game. With that being said, I specialize in teaching new players the rules of the game system our group is running so they can play outside of our group as well. I like to emphasize roleplay and take particular joy in incorporating players backstories with the main story and quests. Combat is adjusted to meet the needs of each group. For the group of battle hardened veterans, they can expect challenging and interesting encounters. While newer players are unlikely to be overwhelmed or ever feel hopeless, the dynamic varies greatly between individual groups but once I get a feel for what a group is looking for and enjoying, you can expect to see more of it.
