About me

Let's face it, we've all been there - sitting around with our pre-made character sheets and wondering which one of us is going to file it away in order to take the role as the Dungeon Master. For over the past four years I have been broadening my skills as a DM and honestly the ride has been amazing. Not only do I get to tell intriguing stories and weave together a player's backstory into the overarching plot, but there are moments that the dice decides that just can't be planned and I love every second of it. A bit about me, I have been serving in the military for over eleven years, I enjoy drawing, crafting stories with friends, and of course D&D. So forget about how long it will be until you can play again, I JudgyDM welcome you to my table.

GM Style

Telling a great compelling story, heavy role play is something that I love to see my players explore (ignore when I write things down to bring up later). I do a few bit of voices just so you can tell the NPCs apart from one another. Combat can be interesting though not always straight-forward. Overall, expect a party experience - party strife, discourse, as well as collective accomplishments and victories. There's more than one way to accomplish your goals. In a given campaign I encourage taking notes but I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. I encourage all playstyles and will try to find that happy balance with each given group. If a player is having difficulty finding something either on their character sheet or understanding a concept I do my best to work with them so that they are more familiar with where to find the given information. Stories are fun but it's all pointless if you aren't having fun at the end of the day. I try my best to work with each player individually so that they are seeing concepts or themes about their character coming out into the story and evolving and shaping the direction of the campaign as a whole. There are pivotal moments in a campaign where a player will hear me ask them, "What is your judgment?" for this you will be given two options - mercy or death. Do not take this choice lightly because this will very well steer a campaign in one direction vastly different from one another.

NPCs, NPCs, NPCs. The incredible in-depth of the NPCs are absolutely astounding. It's hard not to get locked into conversation with an NPC instead of getting the conversation done so you can go on to the next thing you needed to do. While keeping very close to traditional rules, Stax also allows imagination to be used as well. Instead of saying no, "Well you can't do that, but you could do this or this" and really encourages you to use the rules but also use your imagination.

I’m completely new to D&D and this DM made it a fun and easy experience for me. I was assisted where needed and given clear answers to any questions I had throughout. The team are great too, they all help you out before and during sessions. This has definitely sparked a love for TTRPG’s for me and I will definitely be back for more. Thanks for a 10/10 experience!
