About me

Julie has run games for several decades, focusing primarily on one-shot horror, weird fantasy, and other genres a bit off the beaten path (basically anything that's not S&S, supers, or hard scifi). In the late 90s, Julie helmed the critically acclaimed gaming zine "Serendipity's Circle" which was nominated for the Origins Award several times in its 20-issue run. Julie has writing credits in games as widely different as Chill and The Whispering Vault, and a "Mythos Creator" credit in the Tales from the Crypt RPG (and admits it!). Julie is available for one night of spookiness, or an episodic horror campaign (each game a finished story, but with recurring characters), though she often claims to be "not quite cruel enough to run Call of Cthulhu."

GM Style

Roleplay, puzzle solving, mystery horror, horror mystery, a dash of combat. Lots of perception rolls. I am also adept at picking up new (to me) systems, and adapting scenarios I have to fit those worlds. Whatever I charge would have to cover the cost of books (at drive-through RPG or some similar place) for any game i don't already know. My favorite games to run would be The Whispering Vault, Chill, Little Fears, Pandemonium! (the very silly game of tabloid reporting), and I've also run Paranoia, and other games too numerous to mention, as we play tested many during the zine years to see how they ran before reviewing them. I do not yet have a gaming platform, but will take a look at what's out there. Because I am as yet unprepared to jump right in, I am leaving a lot blank for the moment.
