About me

I want to be a story teller! If you are playing DnD you are a part of a shared story experience and I want to be the one to help cultivate your next one. My name is Matthew Kondziela, I have been playing DnD since the early 90's starting with 3rd edition. In high school I started DMing for my friends and I have been running campaigns ever since. With over a decade of experience, from Pathfinder, D&D 3rd-5th edition, and Homebrewed TTRPGs (in vein of Honey Heist and Skull Wizards) I have managed to weave compelling and entertaining narratives for experienced and new players alike. I have played with people of age groups ranging from 13-45. I have taught new players who have had language barriers and accommodated for disabilities. My virtual DM skills were honed during the pandemic. I have tried D&D Beyond, Roll 20, Skype, Zoom, and Discord to run sessions with groups up to six players. My preferred platform is Zoom with Google drive as a means to share character sheet information. If we are doing a campaign I recommend a session 0 to determine group expectations and character creation. I often Homebrew and I am open to input from players...within reason. [My current personal Campaign is based off of the Dimension 20 'Pirates of Leviathan']

GM Style

I tailor my DMing style to my players, but generally I would describe my style as fill in the blanks, where I will establish boundaries and let the players fill in gaps, balancing careful world building with player spontaneity. The game is all about a shared storytelling experience, and that involves everyone at the table and the dice.
