About me

I started playing Advanced Dungeons & Dragons back in the early 80s as a wee lad and it has been a part of my life ever since. I have been running home games for decades and have an elaborate miniature setup. The past few years I started playing online as a player and have been building an interest in transitioning to virtual table top games. In my free time, I am a stage actor and vocal musician, as well as the President for a theatrical production company.

GM Style

I like desiging complex NPCs who challenge the group in roleplay and combat scenarios. I also eliminate most resurrection options from my games. I am a strong believer that character deaths are some of the best experiences in Dungeons & Dragons. There is nothing like rolling a third death saving throw and knowing that a fail is a permanent death with no opportunity for resurrection. I find that my players often talk about the epic ways in which their beloved characters died even years later. Because I disallow resurrections, expect that character death is a likely and regular occurance for parties to have to deal with. It does increase the intensity of games and the consequences of decisions. I also love the randomness in a game with dice, so I believe in unique consequences that happen when a player roles a 1 or 20 on an attack or ability check. Other than this, I tend to run my games using standard rules with no homebrew. My goal is to create an immersive and storyfilled experience. While your characters may not be safe, I do my best to create a safe environment for players. I will often use turn based roleplay to ensure everyone has an opportunity to be featured and I minimize game chat during combat to allow each player to determine their desired course of action.
