About me
Hi there, I'm Robert, 37 years old and I've been roleplaying for about 22 years now. Most of the time I was the GM, as I was very imaginative and I like spending my free time on working on my campaign. I don't have any great ideas yet for this platform, and I'll probably play a couple of games first, to get the hang of the online aspect of this operation. I just wanted to make this account straight away and maybe give updates on the development of my story. I have an actual table top D&D campaign running very well now for about half a year and I spend a lot of time working on that, so it will be big challenge for me to run two campaigns simultaneously. I hear some of these GMs run 6 to 9 games every week, but that would be too much for me. Maybe they use premades, but I always invent my own setting and customize every aspect perfectly, which is why it takes so much of my time. Once I get cracking with a really cool setting and ingenious plot, I intend to give the same amount of dedication for my game here as I do with my live campaign. Just stay tuned boys and girls, it will be EPIC. Adendum: I had a brilliant idea, since my current campaign is going so well and my friends being all psyched about it, why don't I just do the same campaign online, from the beginning. I wonder how different some of the outcomes will be, because the game is basically a sandbox with appointments, or mission objectives if you will. I'll lay down the premise of the campaign soon, but I really can't tell a lot, because it might ruin the surprise you experience in the game itself. Update: I have fleshed out scores of characters, mapped several continents as well as a couple of important regions where the story would likely take the players and I've created a rich history and vibrant political Arena. I use themes like peace and war, specieïsm, revolution, horror, powerplaying, underworld interests, historical figures, major historical events, national rivalries, covert action by states, a world in transition towards a more enlightened age, impending doom, divine involvement in earthly matters, deities' agendas, hidden agendas, blatant criminal plans, cultural variation between areas, a homebrew way of mapping that's permanently in development, ancient secrets and mysteries to get to the bottom of, the featuring of lairs on the handdrawn maps; lairs in this setting being the home of some powerful and unique monsterous creature who's mere presense causes the area around it's home to adapt to the monster's general theme and becomes more accomodating to creatures like it and less so for all others. I've recetly introduced a symbol on the map that indicates there is some kind of arcane disturbance, like a rift in reality somewhere some silly drunk wizard had tried to hide his bag of holding in a second bag of holding, figuring that the many warnings wizards get to hear about this diet coke and menthos type trick were probably very exaggerated. Turned out: they were not. So that could leave a mark on the land that might need to be patched up, before things from the Far Realm start slithering through the warpy fracture that nobody who looks at it can really wrap their heads around this 5 dimensional anomaly. Anyway, I digress. So far the 03-03-2022 update of this page I had forgotten about for over a year x-D
