How will character creation work

Your character level will depend on the one-shot for that week! **Step 1: Choose a race** Choose a species for your character, such as human, elf, dwarf, halfling, or tiefling. Each race provides unique abilities and bonuses, so choose one that aligns with your character concept and playstyle. No Spelljammer races for this game. **Step 2: Determine ability scores** You have three options for determining your character's ability scores: rolling, point buy, or standard array. If you choose to roll, use the '!randchar' command in Discord to roll your ability scores up to three times. **Step 3: Choose a class** Choose a class for your character, such as fighter, wizard, rogue, cleric, or bard. Each class provides unique abilities and spells, so choose one that aligns with your character concept and playstyle. There are no restricted classes, but you must ask about *Blood Hunter and Artificer.* **Step 4: Choose a background** Choose a background for your character, such as criminal, noble, or sage. Your background determines your starting proficiencies, equipment, and other traits. **Step 5: Choose starting equipment** Choose your starting equipment based on your character's race, class, and background. You may also purchase additional equipment using the starting gold provided if applicable. **Step 6: Select spells (if applicable)** If your character can cast spells, choose your spells from the available options. However, be aware that Goodberry, banishment, polymorph, wish, silvery barbs, moonbeam, revivify, and comprehend languages are banned according to your provided rules. **Step 7: Choose your feats (if applicable)** Choose any feats that your character may have access to, but be aware that Lucky, Observant, Alert, Keen Mind, Spell Sniper, and Sharp Shooter are banned according to your provided rules. **Step 8: Finalize your character** After completing the previous steps, finalize your character by recording your chosen options, including your ability scores, class, background, equipment, spells, and feats (if applicable). Be sure to consult your DM (@Petrichor#3256) to ensure your character follows any additional rules or guidelines specific to their game.
