Welcome to Waterdeep, the City of Splendors! Along the Sword Coast, lies Waterdeep, a bustling, crowded, busy mercantile city where coin is king and tolerance for people of all races and religions is high. Waterdhavians live life at a fast pace, and despite their fervent work ethic, they rarely miss an opportunity to celebrate, with festivals often going on all day and all night. In Waterdeep, wealth brings respect, respect earns influence, and influence is power. They say that all wealth on the Sword Coast moves through this city, and those with enough influence or cunning might find a chance to keep some of it themselves. Waterdeep always has something moving under its surface, but now that something seems on the verge of erupting. For reasons unknown but highly speculated, the Zentarim and Xanathar Guilds have begun clashing in broad daylight. In response, the High Wizard of Waterdeep, Vajra "Blackstaff" Safahr, has activated her independent enforcers, Force Gray and the Gray Hands, even as city guard patrols have increased tenfold. Jobs are becoming harder to come by as Waterdeep’s underworld has started laying low and waiting for the chaos to pass. Can you and your companions grab the brass ring or will you be cut to ribbons by the dangerous factions of Waterdeep? Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is a level 1-5 Dungeons & Dragons adventure. Waterdeep Dragon Heist is a city-based adventure with a focus on roleplay and investigation over combat. Characters go on a grand tour of one of D&D’s most famous and interesting cities in search of treasure and lost artifacts and get the opportunity to become a real part of the city, rising in rank and renown through Waterdeep’s key factions. Clever heroes will respect the city’s rules, those who get on the city’s bad side are in for a rough ride.
