About the adventure

**Life Sucks, .... and then you Die** The tang of sulfur and hot copper smell of blood bite at your senses. Rhythmic rocking seems to suggest you’re on a boat. Smells of smoke, and thick oily burning pork seems to be hanging in the air. You're so *tired*. so much so it's too difficult to even open your eyes. Were it not for the cloying tang and bite of the trace of sulfur, hot copper, and the sweet smell of meat gone bad, you might even think you were on a ship - but there is no breeze, just a perpetual stench, and muggy heat. But... that just doesn't add up. Didn't you just.... **Seering pain lances through your mind**. Images of violence, confusion memories of pain your nerves on fire and in your panic and rising gorge you forget how heavy your eyelids are. You actually hear the pop of the crusted mucus and blood that cemented your eyes closed. As the world starts to focus and you struggle to sit up. Across from you is a nightmarish horror, his pale mottled flesh bears a slash so deep across his bare chest that you can clearly see not just muscle, but the stark white of rib cage's bones and clotted sallow pink-grey flesh of what must be a tear into his lung, fluttering in response to air escaping. "I said.. Congratulations, you're dead. But... that's were the good news stops for you I'm afraid." In short blunt sentences, he tells you you've died and are now in "the Liminal" - a place between your eternal rest or damnation, and the world of the living, ...more interesting... he has a plan. **GAME DETAILS:** In this campaign, all players will be running dead characters. Dead, but not *UN*dead. Your characters are in, essentially, limbo. Awaiting judgment and final debarkation to their relative afterlives, or not... Characters will start at a mid level (5th-9th depending upon some factors related to final number of players and backstories) You are encouraged to develop your character's backstory *very* well, including their mistakes and woes, misdeeds and downfalls and what lead to ultimately, their death. They will bear the scars for their mortal death, so feel free to play with that. The characters will be attempting to find a way to deal with the challenges of their death and seek out their eternal rest or restoration to life while avoid being devoured or enslaved by fiends, demons, celestials, and other spirits of the dead. The campaign will take place in a non-canon (ie homebrewed) world/cosmology. As such, races/classes from any canon WoTC setting will be available for players to consider **HOMEBREW / HOMEBREW RULES** Nonstandard World, Milestone Progression, Some Spell Revisions, Increased Downtime rules, **+1**; Players will be allowed to choose up to 1 non-standard element to bring into game (pending the GM's approval) be that a race, subrace, class, Archetype (College/Tradition/Path/Circle/Way/Oath/School/Order/etc. etc), Weapon, Spell, Magic/Mundane Item, Ruleset, or the like) ***Please note*** *The time listed isn't the date/time of the game's session.*
