About the adventure

The Milky Way is a disk shaped barred spiral Galaxy comprised of approximately 300 billion stars, covering a span of 175 Light Years in diameter, with a bulge 2 Light Years across at its center. It contains an estimated 100 billion planets. Somewhere around the year 2028 AD, on planet Earth in the Orion Arm, the sentient inhabitants of the planet committed themselves to a global armed conflict that would engulf all of their human civilizations in an apocalyptic struggle for survival. In the waning days of the Ultra War, the Super-AI Altissiumus XL-5000 was created on the North American continent and proceeded to effectively subdue the powerful War AIs that had hitherto ravaged humanity. A new government on the East Coast of the former United States was established, calling itself Federation Command. Now the survivors, with the assistance of AltX, have a new, and perhaps final, chance at civilization. I am an assistant in the development of the Elthos RPG game system. The system has been created by Mark of Elthos, a fellow GM on this site. The Way of All Flesh is a joint Sci-Fi world for campaigns and adventures, with different areas of interest between the two GMs. The Friday Night games will focus more on the rebuilding world in the aftermath of the nigh-apocalyptic Ultra War. Journey through a changed and devastated North America, from the foreboding wilds of the Appalachians, to the labyrinthine hearts of the domed Mega-Cities. A message from Mark: "Elthos RPG is a system of my own design created in 1978, with books on DriveThruRPG, and a web application called Elthos RPG Mythos Machine that fully supports my game system with world building and character management ... it's a full blooded web application that allows the players to log in, create and manage their characters, does all the number crunching, and provides nicely formatted prints of both, the areas of the world that the PCs can currently see, and their Characters Sheets. The game may be recorded for later use on ancillary projects including actual play writeups and/or other productions.

How to prepare

Good communication equipment is requested. Web cam is optional, but a good mic and bandwidth is required. We will use Discord mostly, and primarily it will be theater of the mind, with tactical combat using posted maps only as necessary, and possibly a jaunt out onto Roll20 or similar platform occasionally.

How will character creation work

You will create a free account on the elthos rpg Mythos Machine as a Player. From there you will create your character in a jiffy, and be outfitted with everything you need to build and maintain a robust character in the World. Mythos Machine can be found here: https://MythosMachine.Elthos.com When you sign in you will be taken to the Player Intel Screen. Pick GrayFalcon as your GM, and then pick One Shots World as your World. You will then be able to roll a character by going to the Characters Screen.
