About the adventure

Life on the sea is hard enough for a crew of goblins, but then customs boarded our ship and confiscated all of our completely-legitimate-and-not-at-all-smuggled cargo! We were prepared to let cowardice be the better part of valor, but then they went and took Cookee’s magic spice pouch, too. That’s going too far! You thought the food was bad before? Blech! They may have banned us from The Town, but somewhere in there is a warehouse with all of our ill-begotten *ahem* I mean… properly-obtained-and-legitimately-documented-cargo, and now Cap’n, Cookee, Mizphit, Mooch, Schnott, Screech, Skunk and Carl are on a quest to take it back! [This irreverent, farcical heist is a D&D 5e One-Shot adventure for 3-5 Goblins of Level 5. Bring your dice and a sense of humor, but leave your sense of decorum at the door!]

How to prepare

Players will need: • To complete a digital New Player Review: This is a questionnaire that I will provide upon your joining, which you can complete on your own time prior to the adventure. It reviews game conduct expectations and provides you an opportunity to communicate any sensitive conduct Lines and Veils you may have. This replaces the scheduled, 'face-to-face' Session 0 that is common for campaigns, but is not always feasible for one-shot adventures. • A Discord account. • A microphone with a minimal amount of disruptive background noise and the ability to clearly communicate via Discord voice chat. • A basic DnD Beyond Account. (Paid Subscription Account Not Required) • A basic Roll20 Account. (Paid Subscription Account Not Required) • A laptop, PC or other device capable of running the Roll20 web application. • Kindness, a sense of humor and the ability to work and play well with others.

What I provide

• Open-Door text communication via Discord to review questions you may have prior to the one-shot adventure. • An assortment of creative and (allegedly) amusing goblin characters to choose from, premade and ready-to-play for you in DnD Beyond! It’s an easy, grab-and-go snack adventure... kinda like string cheese, a lizard on a stick, or my sister! • An irreverent sense of humor and an eagerness to guide you on an adventure of inane mischief and amusing antics. • A Roll20 Virtual Tabletop experience that includes: ‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ • Custom encounter maps. ‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎• Environmental music and ambience.

Gameplay details

SENSITIVE CONTENT / SUBJECT MATTER This one-shot may contain irreverent humor and adult themes (because... goblins!). I do not use or allow sexual assault or child abuse as narrative content. Due to the improvisational nature of roleplay, however, I am uncomfortable claiming to have provided an exhaustive list of content warnings for what subject matter might occur. Note, however, that there is a line between irreverence and obscenity; between humor and vulgarity. Irreverent humor is acceptable, obscene vulgarity is not. Everyone is encouraged to remain cognizant of those distinctions, and anyone engaging in behavior that is perceived to be excessively obscene or vulgar will be expected to reign in that behavior when informed of it. SAFETY TOOLS • Prior to the adventure, players will have the opportunity to request that highly sensitive subject matter be added to a list of Lines and Veils, and I will communicate those topics to all participants so that we can steer clear of them. • Due to the anticipated irreverence and silliness of this one-shot adventure, however, persons with severe or extensive content restrictions may wish to consider one of the many other wonderful one-shot options available on Startplaying.

How will character creation work

Upon joining the adventure, you will be presented with a DnD Beyond ‘campaign’ link and descriptions of the premade, ready-to-play goblins that you can choose from for this adventure. The characters are available on a first-come, first-choice basis in order to give each player the maximum amount of time to become familiar with their new character.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
