The Roots of Gaia

About the adventure

Here we see the sprawling landscape of Gaia, a continent filled with peaks and valleys, littered with trees and widespread grasslands, it's in its infancy. The Casian Empire still in the process of claiming it's massive land and uniting kingdoms by force, the great Empress Casandra is becoming know as the most bloodly ruler in Gaia's young history. A war is coming to a close with the latest of the blood Empress's victims, the small band of untied viking villages, either surrendering and agreeing to acknowledge her rule or being slaughtered, a few rebels remain but those that are found are tortured to death publicly, along with their immediate family. Only one nation stands opposed to her rule, the principality of Alronia, ruled by the rightful heir to Steði's throne, war is brewing between these two nations and the outcome will spell the fate of those to come. The sprawling grasslands and deciduous forests sweep part of the land, on this, Steði, the easternmost isle of Gaia, which is where our roots will collect into a bustling colony of sprouting saplings, the only question remaining, however, is how long it shall grow for, will it wilt away or will it grow on long into the next generation, becoming the new world tree? Only time will tell, without any further ado, welcome to Gaia!

How to prepare

Mics are required for discord vc, webcams are optional and their use will depend on the comfort level of those at the table. I require that a good attitude be brought to my table as well, we come here to play a game and have a good time, we are not here to bicker or argue (out of character) over who gets what loot.

What I provide

I will be rolling dice in real life as a makeshift DM screen. I will be making images for the landscapes and combat maps however I am no artist so they'll simply be the best I can get my hands on. I'll be bringing my best each and every week and I hope you will too.

Gameplay details

This game contains themes of torture, murder, villainy, and generally nasty, realistic depictions of archaic social hierarchies. That being said racism, sexism, rape, etc are strictly banned from my table and are not welcomed. In session 0 hard lines will be established and talked through in order to keep those at the table comfortable.

How will character creation work

In session, 0 characters will be created with the entire party present to coordinate a fun experience. Secrets will of course be held and backstories will be kept private until learned in character. Characters will be made in roll20

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
