About the adventure

It's the night before Christmas, and all the adventures kids have been left at the old Keep. They have been playing with each other all winter long, but tonight Santa is coming and will be giving gifts to all the good boys and girls. But something is wrong. Is that a fire bolt heading for his slay? This Christmas one-shot Adventure should take 2-3 hours and is good for experienced and new players using a modified 5e of Dungeons and Dragons system, where the adventures play as children versions of their adventures (age around 10). They will play in the snow and talk about their excitement about seeing Santa. But things will grow wrong, and the children are the only ones who can save the day and Christmas! - Fun for all - This adventure is suitable for all ages; kids will love it, and young at heart adults who always wanted to be in a feel-good children's Christmas adventure (Think Home Alone). Or just want to play their grown-up adventure as a child. - Systems and Programs - I use Owlbear rodeo for the map; it's a free web browser program and very easy to use. For communication, I use discord as the default but can switch to skype if needed.   - Creating your character - I will send players a 'Simple' character sheet to fill in to create their 'Kid' Adventure, which uses simplified modifiers and "ouches" rather than hit points. All you will need to know is your payer's Race / Species and personality. Their class is not necessary (their to young to have learned much) You're welcome to use any Race (Species) from any 5e official WOTC books - but I do recommend sticking with the PHB. - Final word - The adventure is mostly role-playing and the players will do their best to think like a kid (in a movie). Be ready for a laugh and let your inner child out.

Additional Details

How to prepare

A microphone is required. A webcam is not required - but is encouraged. Players do not need to know the 5e rules, with role-playing being the primary objective with simple pass fails of dice roles. Discord and a web browser for Owlbear rodeo. Owlbear rodeo has inbuilt dice - But players can roll their on physical dice if they want.

What I provide

I will bring the Adventure. I will use a webcam and Microphone. I will have all maps and tokens ready on owlbear rodeo. I will also provide the special character sheets.

Gameplay details

Players can expect fast-paced combat, but the fights will be light-hearted and non-lethal on both sides. Expect them to end with the enemy giving up. I usually play for 2 hours, then have a 15 min break, followed by another 2 hours. If a player needs to step away, please type AFK, so I know - the adventure will continue with your turn in combat held (moved down initiative) until you return. Any exploration will assume your character is silent and following the main group. If at any stage, a player feels uncomfortable with a subject, they can ask for an immediate stop. Abusive or degenerative behaviour by a player during the session will result in the game being stopped and that player most likely be removed.
