About the adventure

The Dormant World is the planet we "Dormant" live on. It is Earth. Many of us will know of no other place in our lifetime. However there is another place. A place full of mystical wonders and terrible horrors. It is where the Others live. "The Ever Moon". My name is Idrillas, I've been DMing now for about 2 years since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, my dream since I started was to create a living breathing world, where life progresses even if you don't interact with people. Where every single choice I make or a player makes can have consequences, even if that choice is to steal a NPCs ring, it might come back to haunt you. My play style is a lot of improv, myself and the players build the world together! A lot of my games have strong comedy elements mixed in with more serious themes. Roleplay is my bread and butter, I love when my players go off and do roleplay stuff, whether by getting to know each other or by getting to know my NPCs. If I had a list for things I love in the DnD games I host, it'd be: 1. Roleplay 2. Goofs 3. Lore 4. Combat This game will have many homebrew mechanics some are listed here: 1. Wounds 2. Lasting Physical Injuries 3. Lasting Psychological Injuries 4. Fumbles 5. Instant death from failed con saves after an enemy attack that's a natural 20 All of these will have more in depth explanations and examples in the Discord Server.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a mic. I will be using a webcam, you are welcome to as well. You will need Fantasy Grounds VTT. You can use physical or digital dice. In regards to character creation we will set up a time to go over that together.

What I provide

At the end of the campaign I will be providing custom individual character portraits and a party illustration. I will also get each player a set of dice of their choosing. I'll provide more information in regards to all of that in the discord! All of the maps will be made by me and I will post links to the downloads if any of the players wish to keep them. During the games I provide music, ambience, and sound effects!

Gameplay details

Safety Tools Information: After I approve you request to join the game I will send you my Lines and Veils Document, with some questions in regards to your specific Lines and Veils. A short explanation on what Lines and Veils are: Lines are hard limits that the DM and the Player don't wish to engage in. A Line is something that will not come up in game at all. Veils are soft limits, things that are ok behind a "fade-to-black". Things that will come up in game but won't have a spotlight shined on them or any explicit detail about what happened. In regards to Session Zero: Session Zero will be free, I will have a one on one Session Zero with each player to complete an interview to figure out if my game is a good fit. We will also go over Lines and Veils, the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist, Luxton Technique Discussion, X, N, and O cards, and all of those work. We will also discuss the new homebrew mechanics, character creation, backstory, introductions, and story points you want your character to have. This Session Zero can be either over voice or text whichever you are most comfortable with. There will be a second Session Zero dubbed "Session 0.5" which will also be free and be done over voice to introduce all of the players to each other and get to know one another and figure out if any of the PCs know each other in game. Here is where I will also provide an updated Lines and Veils discussion with all of the players personal Lines and Veils taken into account. We will also discuss the content warnings for the campaign and what players can expect. Once a month the players and I will have a one on one meeting (Text or Voice) to go over any new Lines and Veils, any new triggers, and any updates to the consent checklist the player may have. Also we as a group will have a Round Table Meeting to discuss updates to the Lines and Veils and any new mechanics the players or myself wish to introduce. Gameplay Details: This is not a set campaign storyline, there are story tracks but first and foremost this is a sandbox campaign, if players want to run off and explore the world they are welcome too, there are no "invisible walls". PCs will start at Level 1. This campaign will take the PCs all the way to level 20. If at any point a PC dies, I will have a open discussion with the player in regards to what could happen to that PC. Players are more then welcome to retire PCs if they get bored or wish to try something new! The most important thing is to have fun! At my table I strive to have a open and welcoming environment for all my players, if at any point a player needs to leave the game for any reason, they can. There will never be any guilt. They will be welcomed back at the table if they wish to return later.
