About the adventure

Do you love Eberron, but can't get a group together? Have you heard about it's awesome lore and want to experience it? Then journey to the Streets of Sharn: An Eberron One-Shot. When the game begins, each player will draw a card from my Deck of Many Things. This will determine what evil plots are afoot in Sharn, and what treasures will be available for the taking! Sharn, the greatest human city, is too big to be believed. Her towers are miles high, and they are host to every faction that can be found on the face of Eberron. Dragonmarked houses offer their wares at their highest quality, refugees from the last war struggle to make a life for themselves, guards patrol the streets but they don't protect every citizen. The lower cities are overloaded with refugees of the war, second class citizens forgotten by the Brelish crown toil in the depths, and crime lords seize more and more political control. The midway is packed with commerce and greets travelers from all over the continent of Khorvaire, and even some from lost Xen'drik and mysterious Sarlona. The Uppercity is home to the city's rulers and nobles, who look down on the streets miles below and see it as something to be manipulated and controlled. Here there are 1 million stories of innocents framed, of nobles who have lost everything, of dangerous magic innovations, and the battles of the never ending war between law and chaos. Sharn crushes all who enter, save for the brave and fortunate few. This is a session for level 5 adventures who find themselves in this massive and unforgiving city. Here they will need to put aside their differences in order survive or even thrive.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a microphone and a decent internet connection. You will also need a free Discord account and free D&D Beyond account. This is an intermediate skill level game, if you are uncomfortable with that please reach out! I have other games that are far more beginner friendly. Once your level 5 character is entered into my Streets of Sharn D&D Beyond campaign, you will be good to go!

What I provide

I do not use a VTT as this game has numerous scene changes, I will instead provide art of NPCs and neighborhoods.

Gameplay details

Streets of Sharn is set in Eberron which is a gas lamp fantasy Diesel Punk setting. While I don't include explicit content in my games there will be references to life in a post war urban environment. Starvation, resource shortages, gang violence, and nationalist/xenophobic propaganda are some of the more common of controversial content. Please let me know if that makes you uncomfortable early so I know to exclude it. At any time during play, you are welcome to mention that something makes you uncomfortable. I also run a brief aftercare talk at the end of each game to gauge everyone's feelings.

Content warnings

Safety tools used

  • Aftercare

  • Open Door

  • X, N, and O Cards

How will character creation work

I will have a D&D Beyond campaign active for this event, I encourage you build whatever character you'd like with the content that you have access to. While all races are legal, it will be thematically appropriate to pick a race from either the PHB or Eberron: Rising from the Last War. Other races are fine, but I'll need to explain to you how your race fits in to the world of Eberron.
