About the adventure

Generiville is a quiet college town, so quiet you'd never know it was full of monsters! From vampires to demons to Karen (the leader of the local coven), our heroes are called together by fate to uncover the truth and who is behind odd time disturbances and missing coeds in this Buffy game. Join us as we find out what is truly going on at the local frat parties and figure out just what is Dean Whitmore's damage. Season 4 may have been a bust (mostly, not Hush. Hush was perfect) but that doesn't mean Buffy in college has to be! All playable character types allowed under the Hero or White Hat format. Start low level and grow to phenomenal cosmic power! The Buffy system is easy to learn and I'm happy to teach. Session zero for character generation and making ties.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Webcam and mic are required, but that's it! I will send links to the shared dice roller and create a Google doc for each player to share setting information, rumors, visions, and anything else that isn't public knowledge. You'll also get your own Google sheet for your character sheet

What I provide

We'll use rollfunkydice for rolling, and everything will be virtual with the exception of hidden rolls for some NPCs. I also have PDF copies of the books if anybody needs to borrow them, as well as a Google sheet custom built with all of the equipment and combat maneuvers so you don't have to look them up every time.

Gameplay details

Roleplay-forward with easy-to-learn combat, Buffy is a great game for new players while still having plenty to offer for veterans of the table. How much combat we have is completely up to you and how your character chooses to solve problems. Everybody also gets personal plot, and I'm open to the story you want to tell just as much as the overall story for the group. For me a good game is one where the characters grow, so we'll start at a low level and work up both mechanically and in character.

How will character creation work

We will have a session zero for character generation, and I've got a Google sheet built for actually putting the dots together. Buffy doesn't utilize a level system, but everybody will start with creation points and 30xp with a cap of 5 to start in Attributes and Skills at session 1 which will increase over time. White hats and Champions are available Attributes and skills cap at 5 The setting will be a college campus, please write a character between 18-22 years old (flexible for back story stuff) I am not outright banning vampire characters, but keep in mind that having your character only be able to go out when it's dark may preclude you from some of the game.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: Medium

  • Roleplay: High

  • Puzzles: Medium
