About the adventure

Following the Age of Dust the empires of civilization have cemented their place as global powers. Men have taken to their new homes following the destruction of their ancestral homeland following the Corruption Crisis. Elves have rebuilt their kingdoms into the Material Realms following the Great Migration. The myriad peoples of the world once scattered by the cataclysms of old now stand tall and proud within the world of Sinath, but unknown to them is that a Dark God has set his eyes on his return to power. Follow the Sagas of the Demon Wars and contribute to the events that fight back against the Lord of Demons and the king of Darkness. This campaign offers a variety of different settings and cultures that all require the aid of those willing to stand up against the horrors of the long nights. Rise up and face down the darkness that threatens the world, or serve it and its master in kind. Build events the way you desire and stage your influence in the world by deciding the fates of millions with your choices and actions. Will you contribute to the rise or the downfall of the Home Realms, will you serve the forces of Demonkind or fight against them as champions of light? Shape the world to your will and claim your throne or sunder kingdoms with your actions, the choice is yours. This campaign is a high fantasy medieval setting that has the players directly involve themselves in events that would shape the Homebrew world of Sinath Bar-Dor. The world is entirely custom made with unique lore, magic items, powerful boons and acquirable abilities, a variety of adventures and questilines to follow, a myriad of backgrounds and pantheons of gods to choose from, and more!

How to prepare

Players will need to have at minimum access to Discord and a headset or microphone that doesn't terribly echo or cause serious background noise. Other than that not really anything too important, other than maybe a Roll20 account. Players can join this game with absolutely no experience of D&D and still fit into the sessions just fine.

What I provide

I have a collection of D&D 5th edition handbooks and websites that allow me to assist players with both making their characters or to provide to the players to give them a wider variety of character options to choose from while making their characters. I also have access to 2 different AI art bots that I use to both make art for my campaigns and allow players to make art of either their characters or whatever they wish really. I do use voices and usually enjoy using Roll20 for maps, for which I do have a paid for account and access to a myriad of resources available on the website. The campaigns are usually played in voice chat over Discord, where I have servers set up for players to join. On the servers I have both a D&D bot that allows players to look up rules, spells, class features and more as well as a music bot that is free use. In terms of homebrew rulings of D&D rules I do usually run games with a loose Rule of Cool system though I am aware and well versed of all mechanics within 5e.

Gameplay details

In session 0 I will be going over the players characters while also assisting them with including their backstories in the world. I also like to personally speak with every player before the first session about any kind of personal triggers of issues they might have with the game before we begin. There will also be a document provided to all players that will allow them to fill out and explain what issues or possible triggers they may have going forward and they may submit it back to me as the DM anonymously so that I can review it and ensure that suck material is not included in the game. Other than following up with possible triggers or describing what kind of content they can expect out of the campaign itself I also like to discuss with the players their backstories as well as their character ideas, not to change anything personally about their characters but to directly try and integrate their ideas for characters into the world and also give the players a brief overview or summary of the game going forward in terms of story summary and general world lore.

How will character creation work

During session 0 I will go player by player and assist players in either creating their characters from scratch or finalizing characters they already have ready. As a general rule I do allow a lot of homebrew races and classes, as well as most of the material from any official 5e books but I do want to go over each individual character before starting the game. As a standard I don't allow anything that completely breaks the balance of the game (i.e. the Mary Sue class or something similar) but can be pretty open-minded about player choices.
