About the adventure

In this adventure we will be returning to where it began for many new players of the 5th Edition of D&D, the Lost mines of Phandelvor. In this game I will be guiding new and returning players who may need to relearn or regain some confidence in the game as we explore areas of the forgotten realms and delve deep into bandit camps and hidden mines. This game is going to very introductory, so those who come expecting the game to move quickly and smoothly from the player side will be disappointed, but I think it will be a fantastic opportunity for people to learn the system as they explore a well crafted world and learn what it means to play the worlds most well known TTRPG System. As the Sessions move on it will deviate from the heavy rule learning as players learn better how to play the game and move into the realm of critical thinking and problem solving with their characters. I hope to generate a small amount of roleplaying, in order to encourage newer players to grow more comfortable with the concept, but will not be forcing it or making it a requirement for this game, as I know it can be nerve racking to step hard into the role playing aspect of this game.

How to prepare

Make sure that you have access to discord and a working microphone or headset that doesn't bleed the audio from around you. I need to be able to comfortably hear you talking during the session, so please make sure you're in a quiet space and able to concentrate! You can use either the digital Dice on D&D beyond, or use physical or other virtual Dice. I will not be check

What I provide

Multiple Additional Gameplay resources that I will reference throughout, as well as all the rulebooks for any questions that may be asked. We will be using vocals and Theatre of the Mind for combat, so you don't have to worry to much on combat positioning or other worries.

Gameplay details

Players can expect a friendly and comfortable pace as we all learn the rules of the game, or get a refresher if we are a returning player. It is important that we all remember that this is a Beginner Scenario, so if you are a returning player with some knowledge, you will have to be respectful of new players who are learning a system for the first time. I will be having a session 0 at the beginning of the first scenario, in order to introduce characters, express expectations, and make sure everyone is comfortable & ready to play. We will hold breaks around the 2 - 2.5 hour mark.

How will character creation work

I want to encourage everyone to go through the character creation process on D&D Beyond when making their character, using the "Point Buy System" to determine stats. The website will help lead you through the process. Just make sure that the creation is made without any homebrew creations. If you are having any difficulty with creating a character, or have no idea what you like, I have several pre-created character PDF's that I can provide, Just reach out to me before the game begins.
