About the adventure

"The drums of war beat through the Wyrmbones. Though the unsuspecting region of Elsir Vale yet rests calm, smothered in its midsummer heat. In the wake of dry weather and dust, a lone caravan filled with supplies bears a handful of destinies to a new beginning. Only the Wheels of Prophecy know if they will be forged by adversity, or crushed by the Red Hand of Doom!" One of the greatest Adventures of 3rd Edition D&D comes converted, refined and playtested to 5th Edition. This adventure set in the Forgotten Realms will take a party of 4-5 characters from 5th to 10th level. The Red Hand of Doom adventure is contained within the sandbox region of Elsir Vale where the days of long lasting peace soon come to an end. The adventure will be a race against the march of the Army of the Red Hand, where you must aid in uniting the various powers of the region to aid in defeating it. Success is not guaranteed, your choices will affect the strength of your allies and enemies, as well as your own. Expect a classic fantasy story about war between the forces of good and evil, heavily inspired by the likes of the Lord of the Rings and Dragon Age: Origins.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You need a decent PC for Foundry and a Microphone + Headset for Discord. Camera is not needed. We will be using Forge & D&D Beyond (for character creation) You should have a basic understanding of 5e D&D. By the time we get to the complex parts, you'll be a Pro!

Gameplay details

Expect a good balance of travel, roleplay, and combat, where the choices of where to go and whom to aid will dramatically change the results of the adventure. Expect at least 1 combat every session.

How will character creation work

I recommend thinking of what kind of character you would like to play and it will be discussed and created as part of Session 0. You can always ask me on Discord for a list of available options and even possible adjustments to bring them in line with the rest of the group. Character Creation: Starting Stats: Point Buy (27 points) Starting Level: 5 Supported Official Content: - Core Books (PHB, MM, DMG) - Fizban's Treasury of Dragons - Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse (no Aarakocra, Centaur, Changeling, Fairy, Harengon, or Satyr) - Tasha's Cauldron of Everything (no Peace or Twilight Domain) - Xanathar's Guide to Everything Supported Homebrew Content (All optional and based on party agreement): - Improved Two-Weapon Fighting - Crafting & Tools System - Monster Loot All needed material will be available to view and discuss on Discord and use in Foundry VTT.
