About the adventure

Welcome to Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, This campaign is a great introduction to Dungeon and Dragons as you explore the storied town of Phandalin, the surrounding region and even the Underdark below. Employed by the Rockseeker brothers, you've been hired to escort a wagon of supplies to Phandalin while one of the brothers: Gundren Rockseeker and the warrior Sildar Hallwinter have journeyed ahead of you to attend business of their own, discover how a seemingly simple escort job can turn into an a tale you'll tell at every tavern from baldurs gate to Neverwinter.

How to prepare

(Communication) Make sure you have at least a microphone. I would recommend a webcam, though it isn't essential. (Accounts) Make sure you have a Roll 20 Account, as it will be used for battle maps, a D&D Beyond account for character creation, and a Discord Account, as that is how we will be communicating. The extension 'Beyond 20' for your browser is free and very useful for using D&D Beyond and Roll 20 together. (Character) If you choose to prepare your character ahead of time, make sure to create it through the D&D Beyond Link provided. If you need help with character creation, be sure to reach out to me, as I'm happy to help and answer any questions you may have or troubleshoot any technical issues with you. (Tokens) Generic Class and number tokens will be available; however, if you would like to use any custom tokens for your character and/or summons, be sure to provide them at least 15 minutes before the session starts.

What I provide

I will be providing a campaign link with all the content on D&D Beyond, a roll 20 campaign complete with Maps and NPCs, music during the session, and a community discord server with its own private category just for members of this campaign.

Gameplay details

(Safety Tools) Part of the first session of the campaign will be a session 0. During this part of the session, we will discuss the safety tools in use, any topics people don't want to see come up, setting expectations for play, ensuring everyone's programs and software are working well, and finally, going over characters and backstories, etc. If you are joining a campaign in progress, the DM will organise a time prior to the session to go over a session 0 with you. If at any point a topic comes up that makes you feel uncomfortable, there will be tools in place for you to privately message the DM and the offending content will be skipped, no questions asked. There will be a short scheduled break about halfway through the session. This will be a good opportunity to go to the bathroom, have a quick snack or a drink, or message the DM about any concerns you may not have felt comfortable bringing up in the moment. (Homebrew Rules) I play mostly rules as written with a few homebrew rules that can be found here: https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/UGDILIvMSwld

You are welcome to make your character prior to the first session, but characters can also be made as part of session 0. (Material Inclusion): All official Wizard of the Coast books are allowed. (Character Level): The Adventure will begin at level 1, however if you are joining the campaign in progress the parties current level will be in the adventure title. (Class and Race Selection): All officially published classes and races are available. Be sure to untick legacy and homebrew content when choosing your race on D&D Beyond. (Stat Allocation): Use either the standard array or point buy Methods for allocating your stats. (Background Options): All backgrounds are available. If your background doesn't already grant you a feat, you can choose a feat to go with your background.
