About the adventure

The Premise: It is the Period of Kings, **129 Ab urbe condita** according to the new **roman calendar**. Rome is founded, beginning it's rise to power swiftly. Medes and Babylon have declared their independence from Assyria, preparing to attack Ninevaeh. Eastern influences have firmly found their way into western culture, while the eastern nations build their own empires. The Persians build their military might as well. In their ambitions, the so-called gods of earth are petty and cruel, plaguing humanity with suffering and death. In this world, a group of extraordinary heroes will come together and ensure the survival of humankind through these new times, the dawn of the Classical Era. ``` NOTE: This campaign includes references to real world religion and historical events. Please note that this is a game and a work of fiction, but we should all take care to be respectful as we play. ```

How to prepare

Have a microphone and meet the system requirements for Discord. If you can't run Roll20, I can provide screenshots of the VTT during play. Make sure you have access to your character sheet and any sources you use for your character during play. Your GM will help you come up with a backstory, find some character art, and maintain your token in the VTT.

What I provide

All character options on D&D Beyond. Roll20 Pro Account. We host custom compendiums and campaigns settings on our server, as well as several bots useful for both live sessions and play-by-post.

Gameplay details

You'll start by filling out Monte Cook's RPG Consent Checklist. Before we begin play, I'll collect and review these forms so I can set lines and veils the whole party is comfortable with. We'll have a good mix of RP, combat, travel, and downtime. This game mechanics will be based solely on SRD and 3PP sources. We'll work together to develop a custom background for your character, as well as their origins in real-life folklore.

How will character creation work

You'll begin play at Level 1. For your sheet, you can use Roll 20 or track your sheet manually (make sure to send to your GM when something changes). We'll always have a Session Zero before we begin play.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
