About the adventure

Mew-Tants! is a rules light indie RPG created by Aled Lawlor of Leyline Press, where everyone is a cat; but not just a normal cat, a cat with superpowers. But other than the superpowers, mostly just a normal cat. Explore the neighbourhood, rescue stranded cats from trees, and take down the 'nip and kibble dealers. Anything is possible when you're a Mew-Tant! Except using things requiring thumbs, you are still a cat.

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need an electronic device which has a camera and microphone, as we will be using Zoom for video and voice call. You will also need an account on a website called Roll20 (free to sign up) which we will be using as our tabletop for maps, character tokens, dice rolling and stat tracking.

What I provide

I will bring the game handbook, the maps and character tokens in roll 20, and lots of fun!

Gameplay details

Themes of animal endangerment, abuse and experimentation are present within the premise of the game. However these are only ever hinted at, and are never described in detail and never occur in the gameplay.

How will character creation work

We will create characters together at the start of the game by rolling a dice to determine which breed of cat you will play, and what your cat's superpower will be (although if you have a preference you can pick from a list rather than rolling). However your cat's personality is entirely up to you! Have a think before the game about what you'd like your cat to be like in terms of personality, voice, etc. You're also welcome to find a picture of a cat that you would like to use as your game token in Roll20.
