About the adventure

*♬♫♩ ♪♬♫ "You can roll 20's on undermountain, with the bugbears and the goblins, too!" ♬♫ ♩ ♪♬♫* # Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood! *"In the city of Waterdeep rests a tavern called the Yawning Portal, named after the gaping pit in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft is a labyrinthine dungeon shunned by all but the most daring adventurers. Known as Undermountain, this dungeon is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. Long has the Mad Mage dwelt in these forlorn depths, seeding his lair with monsters, traps, and mysteries—to what end is a constant source of speculation and concern."* What better way to stave off the crippling mundanity of one's daily ho-humdrumeries than to don thy sword and cape and delve deep into the darkest of depths! UNDERMOUNTAIN, the legendary mega-dungeon, awaits! Hey folks, just looking for some fresh meat to cast into the pits! This is a mega-dungeon based campaign using the official 5th edition Dungeon of the Mad Mage campaign book. We will be using roll20 and discord for webcam + mic and I will be using some variant rulings to create an atmosphere consistent with older editions of D&D. To apply, please message me directly with the following: - a wee bit about yourself and your experience with roll20 and fifth edition D&D/roleplay. - any questions you have about the game or my style of DM'ing ## The Nitty Gritty *Player Characters will start at level 5.* - Character race restricted to Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Human, Dwarf (including all relevant official WoTC subclasses) - Races and classes will be restricted by ability score - Upon character death, new character lvl is 5 or whichever level check point the previous character reached. Level checkpoints are every 3 levels (5, 8 , 12, etc.,). If your character dies at lvl 11 for example, your next character will be made at lvl 8. - Awarded XP - xp will be awarded for particular successful actions, finding treasure, as well as good old fashion killin'. - Official WoTC content only (no homebrew or campaign-specific material) - Rolled stats: (4d6 dropping the lowest and rerolling remaining 1's once) We will be rolling down the line as well, so your first roll will be STR, then DEX, then CON, etc.. - Flanking - No dark vision - No artificers

I have no tolerance for biggotry at my table and a very low threshold for player drama. Good vibes only, if you can't let your hair down and bop along, find another ride.

How will character creation work

-Starting lvl 5 -Stats will be rolled together during session 0 and we will be rolling down the line (each roll is made for a specific ability score and cannot be switched for another). Moreover, I will be using ability and race requirements for race and class, per older editions - so you may not be able to play the race or class you hope to play. *You will always have the option of rolling new characters and character death is rather likely given the nature of the adventure. -Character Sheets must be made on roll20 -Characters and backstories should be thematically consistent with Forgotten Realms setting

Players can expect
