🌟“Oh, ye seek Phandalin do ye? I been hearing many a tale of that place of late. Dem Rockseeker brothers apparently found something of value in those old hills. Something right valuable. Problem is the whole area teems wiv goblins ‘n bandits, real nasty types, sooner gut ye than greet ye. Still, what the Rockseekers have found might make a fortune for someone brave and adventurous. Someone like you perhaps?” 🐉Adventure Premise -Are you looking for an adventure of intrigue, mystery and heroic skirmishes against fearsome men and monsters alike. This introductory D&D campaign sees the characters go from level one nobodies to level five frontier heroes (assuming they all survive), during which you will encounter all manner of creatures both mundane and magical. 🎭Roleplay with stakes - Get wrapped up in the turmoil engulfing Phandalin and its surrounding areas. Be immersed by the beleaguered townsfolk of Phandalin, gaining their friendship or enmity as you see fit. Encounter sneaky goblins, brutish bandits and conniving spell slingers as you seek to understand the mystery surrounding the Mines of Phandelver. ⚔️Strategic combat - To survive the wilds of Neverwinter Wood and the treachery of the Sword Mountains, you will need to make full use of your abilities and surroundings. Engage in combats on lushly detailed battle maps, making use of space, cover and environmental hazards to outmaneuver your enemies. 👪Integrated Backstories - Watch as the existence of your character shapes the world itself. Was your character born in Phandalin or in the nearby region? Has an old friend of yours moved their? Has an old enemy taken refuge nearby? Your characters past will determine their present, but in what form will that take? What brings your character to Phandalin, beyond material reward? See the story morph as a result of your characters past, and feel invested in the well-being of Phandalin village. 🗺️ Immersive Fantasy World - This adventure is set in the world of Faerun (made popular recently by the Honour Among Thieves film and Baldur’s Gate 3 video games), but existing knowledge of the world is only a boon, not a requirement. (Phandalin is in fact close to Neverwinter, a major city visited in the film).

How to prepare

Players will need to have: 🎤 A working microphone 🗣️ A Discord account (it's free). If needed I will help players get their discord set up.

What I provide

I will be bringing: 🔥 Foundry VTT, with many of it's lighting and special effects. 🎵 Many sounds effects and pieces of music tailored for each event 🗺️ Tactical maps and custom tokens. 💬 Atrociously voiced NPC's by a person who slips from Irish to Welsh to Scottish accents in the same sentence! 👨‍🏫 An approachable and patient method to teaching all beginners 🙋🏼‍♂️ A smile and an open ear to those who need it.

Gameplay details

📖 Patience with the learning of the rules so everybody feels comfortable with the flow of the game. 💬 Most conversation will take place over discord, either through the voice chat or via direct messages (if something needs to be kept private from other players. 🚾 There is a 10-15 minute break at roughly the 1 hour 30 minute mark of each session to allow for leg stretching and bathroom going. ⚠️ Players will be informed of the Safety Tools in use and how to use them, as well as my community standards and rules (such as 0 tolerance to any homophobia, racism, transphobia etc towards anybody).

How will character creation work

👨‍🌾 Characters will start at level 1 and use the point buy system. During the session 0 you can go about creating your character in one of two ways: 🏰 1. Create them on D&D beyond, then I can import them into Foundry VTT. 🔥 2. Create them in Foundry VTT itself with my guidance. 🌏 The world of Fae-run is home to a wide swathe of peoples and cultures. Most races are allowed (some RP reasons might be needed for a more obscure or evil race), but no homebrew races. 👨‍🏫 Homebrew sub-classes are allowed but all characters must be approved of the DM, so homebrew must be ran by me first. 👥I don't provide pre-made characters as I believe it stifles a players desires, but for new players I will spend extra time getting the specific ideas and themes of the character down, and providing options that match those ideas and themes. 📖 There is a backstory guide sheet, to help players with curating their backstory and will go over all backstories with players in private (out of session time if necessary) so you know that at some point down the line, your backstory will make a major impact on the campaign.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
