How to prepare

A microphone is required. You will need an account with Roll20 (free) and Discord (free). While it is useful to have access to the Black Crusade rules, this is not required. The PDF is available on DriveThru for those interested.

What I provide

We will use Roll20 for any necessary dice rolls, handouts, maps, character sheets, etc. We will use Discord for Video-Chat. My GM style relies very heavily on character motivations and player drive. While the first scenario will be set for the players, choices matter, and what happens next comes down to them. All you really need though is a desire to roleplay your character, and the maturity to play well with others.

Gameplay details

At the beginning of the first session, we'll discuss Lines and Veils, and other safety tools. After each session, we'll discuss Stars and Wishes (and XP!). Further debriefing and discussion can take place in group or one-on-one after the session is over. Bear in mind that Warhammer 40,000 is a dark place. Except that's really underselling it. It's an absolutely terrible place full of terrible people, human and non. Your characters will experience terrible things and may (very likely) do terrible things. That's in the fiction though. There is no room at my table for Real-Life sexism, racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, abuse, aggression, bullying, or any other kind of toxic behavior against any other player. You get one warning only, because anyone can make a mistake. After that, you're gone, but if it's really egregious, you won't even get a warning.

How will character creation work

Players can create their character on their own or get assistance in Session Zero, which is recommended. All character creation dice rolls will need to be done on the Roll20 page setup for the campaign. Players, should they be so inclined, may use any BC book to create a starting character. Pre-gens will also be available for those that desire them. Should you wish to use something from WH40k Roleplay outside Dark Heresy (i.e. - Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, Black Crusade, etc.), please check with me first.
