How to prepare

You don't have to do anything, but you can read through as much of the rules as you like before hand. https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules. Please send me a message and tell me about how you have studied English so far, and what you would like to focus on.

What I provide

I've been teaching English in a variety of venues since 2018, but never like this and I'm really excited to begin. The primary goal here is learning English, so expect more drills, repetition, practice, and simple exercises as a part of the game. While not as immersive for storytelling, it does make fun learning. Character voices are also fun, but to focus on clear communication, everything will be in a general American (newscaster) tone. I also have player options on DNDBeyond, maps, tokens (if you send me the art you want, I can make tokens), and VTT software.

Gameplay details

Our goal is to focus on learning, so we shouldn't get into anything very controversial. I keep my games pretty PG-13, so if it wouldn't fit in a Lord of The Rings movie, then it doesn't belong here. At session zero, just tell me upfront if anything is off limits and I'll do my best to plan around it. As many will be new to DnD, and you might not know what to expect, you're always free to send me a message and we can talk about it.

How will character creation work

We will make characters during session zero. Think about your favorite characters from any fantasy media (think Conan, Lord of the Rings, Delicious in Dungeon, or Honor Among Thieves) and lets make one that matches the energy, or I can just take care of it and send you one so we can jump in.
