What I provide

I will make all the maps we will be using and host the virtual tabletop where we will all be playing. I will also be hosting the private discord where we will be hosting the sessions and where you will have your character channels to write notes and details about your characters. I will be available most times of the day to go through character ideas, backstory and any troubles you're having with the game, and if I am not available, I will get back to you with a time which works for both of us.

Gameplay details

At the start of a session after everyone arrives we will have a short recap of the last session just to remind everyone of what happened last time. Gameplay will involve mostly roleplaying with NPCs, player interactions, and combat. Puzzles will be rare and will mostly be found in dungeons and tombs but they will be in the campaign. Boss fights will usually have a mechanic that will challenge the players more or will need to be solved before the boss can be damaged. If players are uncomfortable with certain topics or do not want to cross certain lines then just message me and I will adjust the content accordingly. Breaks will be halfway through the session and will last about 5-10 minutes. At the end of the session, we will have a feedback section where the players will tell me what they thought about the session and talk about what could be improved, what went well, what didn't go well, and anything they want to bring up.

How will character creation work

In character creation, we will first start with creating the adult versions of your characters. We will be using point buy or standard array. Your child characters will then be created, but they won't have a class, and all stats will be reduced by 10 (e.g. you had 18 strength on your adult character, it will now be 8 on your child character). You will need to find character art for both of your characters if you are having trouble finding art for your characters, I will help you find some. You will need to come up with a backstory for what happened after you got separated from the group, and this should include a mentor of some kind that taught you how to become your current class. Again if you are having trouble with the backstory, don't worry we can talk about it either in session 0 or afterwards in your private discord channel. Session 0 will be a free session.
