About the adventure

"Nestled on the coast of the Azure Sea is Saltmarsh, a sleepy fishing village that sits on the precipice of destruction. Smugglers guide their ships to hidden coves, willing to slit the throats of anyone fool enough to cross their path. Cruel sahuagin gather beneath the waves, plotting to sweep away coastal cities. Drowned sailors stir to unnatural life, animated by dark magic and sent forth in search of recenge. The cult of a forbidden god extends its reach outward from a decaying port, hungry for fresh victims and willing recruits. While Saltmarsh slumbers, the evils that seek to plunder it grow stronger. Heroes must arise to keep the sea lanes safe for all." We will be using Above VTT for tabletop combat and maps. This nautical adventure will take salty players from levels 1 to 12. Up for a swim?

How to prepare

Players will need a computer with an internet connection, a mic and a way to listen in, either speakers or headphones, a discord account, a dndbeyond account, both free. Join the campaign and the discord server using the provided links, and fill out the provided rpg consent checklist and return it to me. Install the free Above VTT plugin for Firefox or Chrome.

I bring every book on dnd beyond providing all race, class, and character options for players, a dnd discord server, and a fun and engaging time!

Gameplay details

This game contains themes of death, drowning, the sea, swimming, battle. We will use various safety tools, including the X token and X message to keep players having fun and feeling safe. Dungeons and Dragons is a fun game of cooperation and adventure. As such, no player characters can be an evil alignment, and players shouldn't create drama unnecessarily or take agency away from each other. Be respectful and kind to your fellow players and your dungeon master.

Session 0

How will character creation work

Character creation will happen on D&D Beyond and start at level 1, you will be sent a link to join the campaign and gain access to every resource necessary to create your character. We will be using the heroic array (18,16,14,12,10,8) for ability scores. This will happen during a free session 0.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
