A Twist on "The Lost Mines of Phandelver" Perfect For Both New and Seasoned Dungeons & Dragons Players!

About the adventure

The Rockseeker brothers are dwarves with a secret, but taverns and tankards have a way of bringing tales to light. Rumors of lost magic surfacing in the abandoned mine of Phandelver has gained the attention of notable factions along the Sword Coast and the small outback town of Phandelin may never be the same. Join us and learn how to play Dungeons & Dragons 5E as we set our own course and adventure through the "Lost Mines of Phandelver." This is a learning experience for beginners, from character creation to game mechanics, roleplaying, improvisation, imagination, storytelling, and just plain fun.

How to prepare

You will need a computer and access to a microphone, a D&D Beyond account (free), the AboveVTT chrome extension (also free), and a Discord account (yup, that's free too) to join my Discord channel. Feel free to create a character and bring it to session zero, but you don't have to, because we will cover things as the game and the story develop.

What I provide

I will have maps and the adventure for the players to interact with, the storyline, immersive mirth, and flagrant frivolity. I'm no voice actor, but I do my best at character voices.

Gameplay details

In session zero we will go over character creation, any player/GM expectations and do some adventuring. No worries about meta-gaming (talking out of character) during play, this is about having fun and learning. Also, if you feel uncomfortable messaging out in the open, feel free to direct message any questions to me directly. At some point near the middle of the game, we will take a 5-10 minute break, but if you need to step away for any reason, please do. At the end of the session we will debrief to address any questions or problems that may have popped up.

How will character creation work

During session 0, we will create your character on D&D Beyond https://www.dndbeyond.com. So, you will need a D&D Beyond account. We will start at level 1 and use the core rules from the Players Handbook. D&D Beyond is a fantastic website that covers character creation to allow players (both new and old) an easier time to build characters. In addition, during session 0 we will tie the characters to the story; either through your characters backstory, the location, or one of the NPCs, or even something else you bring to the table.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
