How to prepare

Webcams and microphones will be strongly encouraged for this campaign - feel free to message me about any hesitancy you may have regarding this. I am open to running the game on Roll20 or other online software, or even fully theater of the mind over video chat if that's what everyone prefers! Depending on the level of experience (all are welcome!) you can create characters beforehand or work with me individually to build one and get a starting understanding of the rules. I am very flexible and plan to meet my players where they are at for this campaign.

What I provide

I am happy to prep basic battle maps and Roll20 assets, although I don't have a lot pre-built so I will be making most things from scratch, limiting the time I can put into graphics somewhat. I do have access to plenty of 5e books and resources, and can supply everyone with most any reference materials they may need. I also do love me a Heroforge (or other platform) model of D&D characters, so if you don't want to make one for your character, I absolutely can!

Gameplay details

We will definitely do a session 0, during which everyone can bring up their expectations and personal requirements of the game and the content therein. I am more than happy to take any potential triggers off the table for the course of this campaign, and I am always available before or after sessions to discuss what players would or would not like to see incorporated into the setting and play.

How will character creation work

All player characters can be fully custom from the base rules of D&D 5e, new or existing characters welcome! I can be as hands-on or hands-off as you like in creating a character, but will request to see and approve everything before we start. We can figure out the details at session 0. When I have run this campaign before, it has worked well to start at level 1 and scale relatively quickly from there. I have also run this campaign with and without additional alternative level-up mechanics based around & balanced with the standard 5e class features, and we can decide if we as a group would like to incorporate those into this campaign as well (likely based on the experience levels we have present at the table).
