About the adventure

Since the Gods' ascension from the material plane, magic has waxed and waned throughout known history. At the turn of a new millennium it will slowly begin to weaken till but a fraction of its influence remains. It would then slowly but surely return in another 1000 year-long period. Not only magic but the creatures that naturally draw from magic dwindle as well, either dying off or disappearing all together. From such change brings forth new variations of order and chaos, wrestling for control with the ebbing tide of magic through each 2 millennium cycle that passes. The year is now 1274 of the Third Cycle. At the dawning of the new millennium magic has begun to creep back into the material plane. Practitioners of magic are finding access to powers that have not been known for centuries in all fields of arcane, divine, viturgical, and natural magics. Creatures and lineages once lost to history show signs of being spotted again in the world. Many citizens of the world at large wonder, curious and afraid, of what it could mean. What new changes will be wrought by magic's return. You are but one of many within a world built on the ever crumbling backbones of ancient civilizations. Regardless of where you hail from; massive desert wastes, glittering archipelagos, peaceful and verdant lands, or those ravaged by war and decay. It is you who will next take a mantle of greatness. To find your purpose and make your mark in this New Era.

How to prepare

Mics will be required, Webcams optional per group. Sheets will be provided and the game will use virtual dice rolling for all rolls including DM rolls. Discord will be used for communication.

What I provide

I allow all officially published material from Wizards of the Coast (this includes supplements such as Tasha's and Xanathar's) as well as Matthew Mercer's various supplements such as the Gunslinger and Bloodhunter classes. Unearthed Arcana is at DM discretion. Gameplay details

Welcome, potential players, to the ever expanding world of Aevria! This will be a weekly run game at the set time provided. To set a precedence, this game is an open space to all individuals of varying backgrounds, beliefs, and identifications. Any discrimination between fellow players or towards others will not be tolerated and will be subject to a warning before being dismissed from the game. We come as a community to have fun playing a game in which anything imagined can be brought to life, where we can live in a new reality and momentarily escape our own to venture into new horizons unknown. In this venture we must hold respect for each other and the space. This game is largely run with a decent percentage of roleplaying to combat, around 60-70% roleplaying to 40-30% combat. I run combat as a narrative driven aspect of the game. As well, I do my best to maintain a player-driven story. That means incorporating backstories into the narrative as well as presenting scenarios for the players to react to/make choices in as they wish. Sandbox with gentle prods of direction on occasion. Smaller story arcs within a larger narrative framework. As for the tone and themes for the game, that can vary based on player preference. This is a +18 game, and as such will contain mature themes. However, before session 0, each player will receive a consent sheet covering many different types of themes for them to fill out. This will help indicate what themes players are okay with or not and allow me as the DM to either avoid of be cautious with any indicated themes.

How will character creation work

Characters will begin at level one unless players opt for the "Commoner" story option. They will be created in the first of a series of session zeros. -If the commoner story option is selected, all session zeros will include all characters/players. -If level 1 start is selected, session zeros will be split between creation and play between various pc pairings.
