About the adventure

This will be a free one shot in the Sea Of thieves RPG. Pirates will face off against a haughty crew in The Arena! This will teach the basics while allowing some exploration of the many areas available! As is normal in SOT, Death is only a temporary trip to the Sea of the Damned, so be bold! Also, Grog, and lots of it!

How to prepare

I can work with Role, Tabletop Simulator, Discord, or any combo of those currently. Using a Mic is preferred, a Webcam is optional, but I won't be using one. Reading the rules isn't necessary, although it does help to understand the uniqueness of the mechanics.

What I provide

Due to mostly operating online, I will supply the Role Table, the Tabletop Simulator Mod, Discord Server, or any combo needed.

Gameplay details

Session 0 is used for me to set the stage of what players will encounter, without ruining story beats. This will be things ranging from "Your characters will sink enemy ships" or "Your characters can get drunk at your own choosing" all the way to "Your characters will end the lives of your enemies" or "Your characters will watch the BBEG hurt people." X, N, O cards are useful in a variety of situations, and although I set a deliberate line on what content is and is not allowed in my games, this keeps the players in control of content I may have overlooked or didn't foresee being an issue. Debriefing is my preferred ending method of a session. It allows players to talk OOC about what they experienced, along with showcasing their own emotions and reactions to their characters, pride or disappointment. It also allows me, as the GM, to gauge how the content affected the players, to further push the content in a positive direction for what they need/want. Due to the lighter nature of Sea of Thieves, Safety tools are there as an added layer for players to feel safe. Although Sea of Thieves can be equally dark and lighthearted, the players feeling comfortable discussing their personal feelings is important.

How will character creation work

Due to the simplicity of the Avast system (Sea of Thieves RPG), players simply need to have an idea of what their pirate looks like, and will decide between 1 of 12 personality trait pairs and 2 of 4 weapons. That's it! This system is designed for all players to have an equal starting ground, and grow as they play!
