About me
My name is Erick. I have played Tabletop RPGS for over 25 years now. If you ever told me that I could get paid to play TTRPGs I would have thought you were joking. But here I am today. The CEO of StartPlaying asked me join StartPlaying during beta just before the pandemic. When the pandemic lifted I went back to running in-person games at game rooms where I live. I now back on StartPlaying to open up to online games again. I have run games for events, conventions and Adventure League helping people learn and understand TTRPGs for the first time. And for the advanced players, I have offered challenging and intriguing memorable stories. I have traveled the world as a travel photographer connecting with people and telling their stories. Now it is time to create our own stories together. Let us sit down with a group of friends, roll some dice and tell a story together.
GM Style
I am a very story driven GM with heavy emphasis on story telling, roleplay and character driven stories. I like developing of characters and see them grow. I prefer to play in my open world homebrew. But I am down with what ever players would like to play in. I am a fan of low/medium fantasy settings as I have come from AD&D 2nd Edition and Warhammer Fantasy RPG. So I am a fan of a human heavy world. But I have been known to enjoy high fantasy worlds as well, especially with craziness like The Magicians. Just ask my players about their Fey Realm adventures. Despite being heavy with the roleplay, I love tactics when it comes to combat. My goal focused "monsters" think with survival in mind and will run or try to take advantage of the terrain as well as their abilities. In general I tend to go with the flow but also do not mind letting the dice make the decisions as well.

Storytelling
Erick knew everything inside and out: his (very fun) self-written one-shot, all the characters, and all the rules. With that knowledge and confidence, he was able to keep the game moving along in a fun and engaging way. The players who were less familiar with the mechanics got friendly and helpful support, those more familiar got to stretch their creativity, and everything came together for a well-crafted story. Erick also deftly handled a split party--rarely easy to do! All in all a strong recommendation and I would happily play with Erick again.
