About the adventure

Get ready for an adventure by its own writer. The eve of the 5th century sees a rising kingdom in its defining moment: When an invading power comes unstoppable. King Arthur, the King of Camelot, rallies his Knights of the Round Table in a dire attempt to protect his kingdom. Choose your side in this fight: Will you aid the Knights of Camelot and rush to the defense of its mighty wall or will you side with the conquerors to found new lands upon the ruins of an old one. This campaign revolves around warfare, magic, loyalty, chivalry and politics. Where mythologies and history meet, in the setting of Odsire, fire is a cursed concept and humanity learned to survive without it. King Arthur, Bringer of the Dragonflame, ensures his people's safety and learns an invading force is at bay. In a sandbox and heavily dependent on player agency, the setting of Avalon Lost will feel alive and everchanging with active plots, warfare and a grimdark narrative where the players will change it dramatically. We use the Daggerheart ruleset, where epic adventures are well told. No player experience is needed and all levels of experiences are welcomed in the table. While the newcomers adapt to the setting and bring their enthusiasm and fresh perspective to the table, seasoned players will have the utmost fun with challenging encounters and dire dilemmas. The setting of Odsire kicked off with two books: Odsire: Pyres of Cappadocia and Odsire: Garden of Cinder. As the lead writer of both books, you will have a chance to explore a setting from one of its creators and delve deep where history, mythology and magic comes together.

Meet the Game Master

4 years on StartPlaying

About me

Hello all, I’ve been a Game Master for more than ten years and I have experience with playing on tables, online and even in Internet forums in the forms of long texts back and forth. This hobby led me to being a professional and soon I became the lead writer of Historica Arcanum series, a kickstarter success that blends 5th edition of D&D with alternate history. I'm not just a professional Game Master, I'm a professional narrative and game designer as well. My skills have been tested by thousands of peoples and to this day. I have never stopped being a Game Master in my own time. Employing these skills, I am ready to share an adventure with you. I have many systems and settings in my arsenal, from your usual D&D experience to narrative masterpieces such as Call of Cthulhu or Vampire the Masquerade to gritty Warhammer Fantasy. Name it and we can play it!

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be created together where, as a group, everyone will choose their classes and domain cards. Since we use the Daggerheart ruleset, Core Set and Hope & Fear expansion are all valid sources for character creation.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord account, camera and microphone are needed. Players will join a private Discord server. Other than that, players may come to the table with character concepts based on the pitch. No additional preparation needed.

What Mehmet Onur Kart brings to the table

I am the lead writer of Odsire: Pyres of Cappadocia and a seasoned GM, game designer and storyteller. I am focused on roleplaying, do character voices to the best of my capabilities and hopefully invite you to a vivid world where you feel like one of the most important people in the realm. I try to balance combat with roleplay. However, some games may see more roleplay focus and I thrill at the idea that players take agency and actually try their best to get to know an NPC and learn about the world. Players are usually awarded with lore pieces, character changes and more. Since Daggerheart is already a really great game focuses on roleplaying and player agency, that doesn't mean combat isn't important. Consequences are one of my favorite aspects of a roleplaying game and some of them can be delivered during it or just fate won't let them have it. I only expect attention in the game and always a good faith reading on rules, intentions and similar aspects.

Homebrew rules

I don't use any homebrew rules but Daggerheart has a great room for flavor and creative abilities.

Safety

How Mehmet Onur Kart creates a safe table

I will be sending a Lines & Veils document and cover all needed topics in Session 0 to provide safety. I want this game to be safe place for all players. My dms will be open for any kind of communication for these purposes. The X, N, Os can be handled via private messages and some scenes can immediately fade to black if there is any amount of uncomfort.
