Welcome to the Mana Wastes, partner. Out here, the sun is scorching, the skies choked by smog and even the weather is trying to kill you. Magic isn't as reliable in the desert. You have the 1,400 year war between the nations of Geb and Nex to thank for that. But we make do with our own unique advantage: steam powered technology and black powder. About me
I’m Ash Ely, Dungeon Master, Game Master, Co-Host of the RPGBOT.Podcast, and Contributing Author for RPGBOT.net. I am a professionally trained actor and I have a Masters Degree in Game Design. My passion is guiding players through unique experiences, weird worlds, meeting interesting characters and crawling challenging Dungeons. Combined with my training, I love fully immersing my players during sessions. I love the use of mechanics to create the ideal world, and I love the rules of the game…unless they get in the way of fun. As any good Dungeon Master should, I have mastered D&D. Creating your character
We will go over character ideas in our session 0. Backgrounds from the player's guide are encouraged but not required. We will be using a combination of Pathbuilder and Foundry itself to actually make the characters. Most uncommon options are fine (inventor and gunsliger are highly encouraged), rare options require my approval. I am also open to reflavoring some Starfinder 2e classes with adjustments. We will be using the Free Archetype variant rules.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need an active discord account. If you want access to the free archetype options we will play with in Pathbuilder, you will need to pay them a one time fee of $5. Otherwise, you will need to do it directly in Foundry. Everything else will be provided by me.

How Ash Ely creates a safe table
♦ The tone of the game will be a dark deconstruction of the steampunk genre. Some of the darker sides of the Victorian era such as union busting, racism, classism, corrupt politics and pseudoscientific medical practice may be examined in detail. ♦ That said, we will of course discuss lines and veils to ensure what topics are acceptable or not ♦ Documentation will be provided on rules and safety tools ♦ LGBTQIA+ Safe Space
