About the adventure
The passengers won’t explain the rules. The train isn’t burning coal. And you’re already aboard. The Ghostlight Express carries you through the Shroud, where restless spirits stir beyond the windows and strange sounds travel between carriages. Nobody seems willing to discuss what happens when the train stops. To survive this journey, you’ll need to discover what keeps the locomotive running—and what reaching your destination might cost. In this standalone D&D 5e horror adventure, you’ll: * Question strange passengers. Decide whom to trust, what they’re hiding, and whose warnings deserve your attention. * Investigate the haunted carriages. Follow clues to uncover the bargain powering the Ghostlight Express. * Face supernatural threats. Fight, negotiate, or find a clever way through the dangers aboard the train. * Make difficult choices. What would your character sacrifice for a second chance at life? Expect atmospheric roleplay, supernatural mystery, and dangerous encounters in the folk-horror world of The Crooked Moon. No setting knowledge is needed. Level 1 • Pregenerated characters available • New players welcome Bring your own character or choose a pregen. I’ll help you get ready and explain the rules as we play. Book your passage. Discover the train’s secrets before it reaches your final stop.

About me
Hi, I’m Rob. I’ve been running tabletop RPGs for more than 17 years and have hosted over 120 games on StartPlaying. What I Run Daggerheart is my current system of choice. I also run Legend in the Mist, OSR games, Tales of the Valiant, and D&D 5e. My games cover a range of fantasy genres, including cozy fantasy, dark fantasy, nobledark, and grimdark. Most of my games take place in Taeval, my system-agnostic fantasy world. A Player’s Guide is available for anyone who wants to explore the setting before joining a game. What to Expect My games are character-driven and roleplay-forward, but they aren’t short on danger. I enjoy complicated relationships, difficult choices, dangerous fights, questionable bargains, and letting player decisions change the direction of the story. New players are welcome. I teach systems through play and provide guidance without turning the session into a lecture. I use Foundry VTT, Zoom, and Discord. My tables are inclusive and collaborative. Everyone is expected to share the spotlight, communicate openly, and treat one another with respect. Adventures by Request Private one-shots and campaigns are available for groups, duos, and individual players. All prices are per player, per session. * One-shots: $20 * Campaigns: $25 * Duos—two players: $25 for one-shots | $30 for campaigns * Duets—one player: $30 for one-shots | $35 for campaigns Custom Adventure Request Form: https://forms.gle/quHRe6qDiGqi2eQc9

What to expect
Preparing for the session
You'll need a working microphone, a stable internet connection, and access to our virtual tabletop and voice chat. Joining instructions will be provided before the session. We'll be playing D&D 5e with level 1 characters. Character creation details and any additional instructions will be shared before the game. New to D&D? No problem! I'm happy to help you get ready.
What Rob Duke brings to the table
I'll provide the virtual tabletop, maps, adventure materials, and assistance with character creation. I encourage creative solutions and embrace the Rule of Cool while respecting the mechanics that make the game work. Combat will be exciting and tactical, but you'll discover that violence isn't always the only solution. New players are always welcome. I'll help you learn as we play without slowing down our experienced adventurers.
