About the adventure

This game's for folks looking for a gritty, dark experience with heavy doses of irony/dark humor. For players hoping to ride the edge, and leave their mark in a world that won't care about their characters well being, while shooting the shit and enjoying the company of our fellow players. It's a dark reflection of the world we live in, high tech low life. Night City Tarot is active, a random crit effect when 3 6's are drawn on damage die between meat targets. The NPCs portrayed in these settings are selfish and out to profit Homebrew Content approved and introduced at GM discretion. Table can veto homebrew Cyberpunk Character IP is awarded for playbypost and scheduled voice chat sessions. I award IP both on group metric and preferred playstyle (Warrior/Socializer/Explorer/Roleplayer), for your session 0 I will be willing to help with character gen, whether using complete package or edgerunner gen at your own risk.

About me

I've been running games since winter of 2019, Starfinder(with Pathfinder 1e and D&D 3.5 conversion allowed), Cyberpunk Red, Vampire the Requiem 2e, Lancer, Fallout 2d20, Mothership RPG. As a host I and my colleagues run a discord server to host various game information from scheduling updates, to character death recaps in hall of the dead, use soundboards for joke or even just keeping up with the various groups and their happenings. I've had a lot of experience running ttrpgs from a virtual play space. Within the server resides a small artist collective that from time to time will take the time to draw your characters and impromptu games. I'm homerule/homebrew friendly. I like to get to know my players and their characters, and help foster a healthy communication environment on or off the table. Be it an 18+ only environ or a PG13 table. I operate within EST, I'm a freelancer with a lot of time on my hands. So much so in the past 5 years my communities had an ongoing Starfinder game with characters up to level 15 at the point I'm writing this that has closed. In my cyberpunk red campaign my hall of the dead has multiple characters with anywhere from 3000-6000IP.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Discord, Foundry, and a microphone are all required. You do not need to know the rules inside and out to play, however if you are completely unfamiliar with the setting, terminology (stats/skills/roles) I would strongly recommend reading the CPR:CRB EMK or the Cyberpunk Neon shorthand player handbook on your own time between sessions, be ready to ask questions regarding things that confuse you.. Be prepared to take notes, and roleplay your character atleast lightly. I will be taking notes of your characters worst tendencies and habits that repeat over the course of multiple sessions to build their cyberpsycho profile.

What Asher The Storyteller brings to the table

Foundry VTT / Maps and Visual assets Handmade maps scrapped together via assets and sometimes my own talent Use of map assets from dungeon scrawl and newt blueprint builder Line of Sight / Background Ambience / Music Available Occasional use of mind theater where appropriate Rule of Cool is available as long as the rule of cool does not detract from the core game mechanics, for example occasionally I allow players to shoot rockets out of the air from 700m out if their reflexes is 8 or higher. Combats are going to be a test of your kit, game knowledge, and your characters general street smarts. Not every battle is meant to be won. Not every fight is fair. A serial killer may decide you're easy pray, do you keep it to yourself and try to save face? Or do you ask your crew for help at the expense of your image. A gang of 20 scavs may look at your chrome and decide it's worth the risk, can you hold up? Socially, cyberpunk is very much about hierarchy and dismantling it or establishing a new one. NPC's may bully you, shit test you, or straight up try to steal your girl. Give em a reason to respect your character or don't the choice is yours. In combat no one gets to monologue, you've got 3 seconds to get words out, wanna use your action trying to deescalate go for it. My general policy is no gaming table is better than a bad gaming table, I hope we can all be curt and courteous about such matters.

Homebrew rules

Any homebrew content that is introduced can be majority veto'd by the players. Any homebrew content introduced will also be available to the players. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DEshauqVQ7QFy3Cy4-9B7gzlrRJ2oZ69CMn7x2MwTPc/edit?tab=t.0 Is approved content for the purposes of play at start, save for the Mechanized Chassis section which is being overhauled as of Interface 5

Safety

How Asher The Storyteller creates a safe table

You can expect a one to one with yours truly to discuss your lines and veils, discern whether the game is for you before payment, and even if it doesn't work out your presence will remain welcome within the discord server. We use a color system safe word for safety during play Red being a hard limit has been crossed or discovered during play, yellow requesting the crew slow down or fade to black before the scene escalates and green letting the crew know that the scene despite its discomfort is okay to continue. At any given time these safe words can be used verbally or text in the VTT. Despite the grimdark nature of the games there are some elements I simply won't allow at the table. Furthermore although sexual predators occasionally take the spotlight as villains, SA of any kind is avoided at the table and at its absolute worst is only implied against NPCs, otherwise I've no tolerance for the topic at the table being portrayed against fellow players or even implied PC to NPC interactions. PvP is available should there be narrative in character reasons for it. All parties should be aware of the threat of PvP how their actions could provoke it and a single warning out of character and in character is required before we roll initiative. Furthermore as a host I reserve the right to veto PvP if it's inappropriate. If a character is not actively poking the bear and PvP is still on the table the person who is not aggressive can veto the scenario on their own. Player agency is trumped by player comfort. Though play by post is available for those who desire it out of scheduled sessions it's highly recommended to take breaks as needed, share or memes take the time to step back and self care after the games etc. I am willing to take time post session to discuss icky feelings should they arise. I want to know what's upset my players and how I can do better in the future. Regarding the PC's moral flexibility, I will have no input, depravity has consequences. As does being just.
