About the adventure
As part of a salvage crew, you were sent to this ship. They left you here when they came under attack. It's been hours and there's nothing on the radio. You're not expecting a rescue. The ship is a heap of junk, but look on it kindly... it's your lifeline! The good news: the reactor and engines are intact. The bad news: none of it is running. If you've not played Mothership before and love movies like the Alien series, The Thing, Predator, and generally anything sci-fi horror, this is a game for you. Your character's life is held in high regard… I'm kidding! The game treats it with extreme prejudice. With that said, it's always your decision how you survive. Escape can be an option, but n guarantees! Regardless that ‘edge of your seat’ feeling is where the fun is! Once you and the team get to nearest port, you can go in many directions. Bounty Hunting, using the toolkit in the new Wages of Sin. Exploring the stars and salvaging other ships. Exploring planets for their riches. Becoming space criminals (with NPC bounty hunters in pursuit). Or your own ideas. I'll work with the team on whichever course of play you choose. Things to expect: 🚀 An old-school style of play with atmosphere inside the ship… but none outside. 🚀 A Stress mechanic that isn't just for flavour. 🚀 That Stress leads to Panic. 🚀 That Panic leads to consequences. 🚀 Your ship will have its own character. 🚀 Every decision has an impact. 🚀 Our combined ideas will make this a unique game. Come join us... it's time to have fun surviving in space!

About me
Hey there, my name is Jean-Paul and I'm known as Japes (jay-ps). I'll be your Game Master and a responsible for bringing the games together. Fair warning, I'm dyslexic and have a dry sense of humour. Both rule KO here… I’ve been running games since I was a kid. Back then it was just D&D, since then its beena blast running games like Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, Vaesen, Discworld and recently Mothership. During all of those games I’ve found that the shared experience of these fantasy worlds is like a simmering cauldron: we all put our ideas in, and give it a gentle stir. Meaning at this table, there is plenty of room for your imagination to take flight... just don't be like Icarus! All the games I run are in a safe, creative space. All I ask from you is to be courteous to everyone in the game. It doesn't matter if you're playing a 1920s FBI agent in a Cthulhu Mythos romp, a piece of Sapient Pearwood in Discworld, or a Fairy Barbarian who growls at enemies, play them like you’re there. Join us in a game. I can't wait to see how your fun ideas work out.

Creating your character
Character creation will take a few minutes at the start of the session. You chooses are of one of 4 classes and a name. Stats are all rolled, with the click of a button. New to Mothership: The system puts your crew in the most inhospitable environment known to humanity: outer space. It uses a refreshingly simple game mechanic of a d100 that always lets know how likely you are to succeed or fail. Stress accumulates, panic hits hard, and the air recyclers make sounds they really shouldn't.
What to expect

How Japes creates a safe table
• Lines and Veils will be requested before the game and the combined list brought to the table in Session 0. • I'm committed to making these games inclusive for every player at the table. • We'll take a 5–10 minute break halfway through the session, plenty of time to top up drinks and snacks. • Should you join after the initial Session 0, we'll have a similar 1-to-1 Session 0 before you embark on the adventure.
