About the adventure

A small town is often haunted and tormented by a variety of ghastly ghouls, ghosts, cults, and cthulhu-types. A group of Hunters do their best to protect it from the varying horrors that attack it, which includes not only your coterie but also a werewolf bicycle club, a time freezing cult, ghosts at the community college, and a legendary coven of mystics and witches. With this campaign, we'll tell tales and develop characters as they try to survive in and council their city! We'll explore relationships with one another and how actions have consequences, both big and small, good and bad, and how those consequences can shape the world around us, how those consequences can shape the world around others as well. Overall, this campaign will have its serious moments and its silly moments. As a queer campaign writer, especially with horror elements, a bit of campiness does tend to leak through into my gameplay and storytelling.

About me

Two things to me that make a great community are food and stories, which are both brought and shared at a table. At my table, I want your hunger for curiosity and creativity to be satiated. My tables are also safe places, where all sorts of ideas are welcome. I want everyone to walk away feeling heard. However, I do not tolerate bigotry and prejudice at my table; any and all BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, Disabled/Chronically Ill, and Neurodivergent folx are welcome and encouraged at my table. Different and new perspectives bring rich stories. With a decade of TTRPG experience, over half that time in the GM's seat now, I consider myself to be a teacher and a student, willing to guide and willing to learn. My favorite systems are Monster of the Week, and I'm a big fan of running Play by Post games. I'm a Virgo/Libra cusp, a Trekkie, and have a dog and two cats.

Character creation

Creating your character

Come to Session Zero with a character concept, but be prepared to be flexible! We'll work on character creation together to make everyone feel comfortable and ready to play. There's a couple of online character creators out there to choose from, but we'll load them into Roll20 by the end. I'd like to keep this beginner friendly and pull mostly from the Core Rulebook; however I'm open to discussion.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

For my games, I host them in a Discord server. We use this for audio/visual and text chats, as well as sharing resources. Another place we might share resources at is Roll20 and Google Drives.

What Urvy Fitz brings to the table

I am a Rule of Cool GM, especially with systems I'm newer to such as this one. (This is my first game) However, as I learn systems and my players, I gain a better sense of which rules need to be twisted or enforced to make for a more compelling story. I try my best to always reference rules when I'm uncertain, but do love clever word manipulation if it comes down to it. Being a Rule of Cool GM, I also try to do various voices, make silly faces, and include music as long as it's not overstimulating.

Homebrew rules

Truthfully, the desire to play this game is inspired by D20, so there'll be some leniency and pull from that when it comes to rules.

Safety

How Urvy Fitz creates a safe table

Upon joining the game, you'll receive a Lines and Veils document to complete. It is an anonymous and fluid document for folks to use together throughout the game. I also have an open door policy and provide breaks during game. Stars and Wishes are provided as a form and channel in Discord. Feel free to hang out after sessions to decompress.
