About the adventure
Vecna: Eve of Ruin is a high-level Dungeons & Dragons campaign built around mystery, exploration, dangerous choices, and a threat that reaches far beyond any single world. Reality is beginning to behave in ways it should not, old powers are stirring, and the deeper the party looks, the more questions they uncover. This campaign blends the published adventure with ongoing character-driven stories. Your background, relationships, personal goals, and unresolved history can become part of the larger campaign rather than sitting outside it. Expect recurring NPCs, consequences that carry forward, mysteries worth investigating, and opportunities for individual character arcs to develop alongside the main story. My games balance roleplay, exploration, investigation, and tactical combat. Foundry VTT is used to create an immersive game with detailed maps, automation, ambient audio, visual effects, and strong mechanical support, while still keeping player decisions at the center of the game. This is a campaign for players who enjoy working as a group, engaging with the world, following clues, developing their characters over time, and discovering what is happening rather than being told where the story is going.

About me
Luvac Zantor – Game Master I run structured, story driven tabletop campaigns where player choices carry real weight. By day I work as a Senior Systems Engineer. By night I build and run immersive TTRPG experiences focused on narrative depth, player agency, and consistent progression. I’ve been playing and running games since my pre teen years, starting with Dungeons and Dragons and continuing through AD&D, 3.5, 4e, and 5e. Beyond D&D, I’ve run systems like Cyberpunk, Heroes Unlimited, Marvel Super Heroes, and Star Wars D6. That experience shows up in pacing, encounter design, and keeping sessions moving without losing narrative focus. What to expect at my table: • Story first gameplay driven by your character’s decisions • Strong worldbuilding with clear tone and atmosphere • Tactical combat that is challenging, fair, and purposeful • Meaningful roleplay where every player has impact • Consistent sessions with forward momentum This is not a drop in, casual table. Campaigns are structured, curated, and built for players who want continuity, investment, and payoff over time. One shots are available, but the core experience is long form storytelling. New players are welcome. Veterans are welcome. Expectations are clear, the table stays respectful, and the focus remains on delivering a high quality game every session. If you want a campaign where your choices matter and the story evolves because of them, you’ll fit in here.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Characters are created through the campaign’s D&D Beyond campaign, then imported into Foundry VTT. The Foundry version is the official and authoritative character sheet used during play. After initial creation, D&D Beyond should only be used for leveling. I will import or manually apply those level-up changes. Equipment, currency, spells, features, proficiencies, or other changes made outside that process are not active until reviewed and added to Foundry. This protects the automation, corrections, custom configuration, and manual fixes built into each character. Undisclosed or unauthorized character changes are treated seriously and may result in removal from the campaign. ABILITY SCORES Choose one: • Rolling: 4d6, drop the lowest, reroll 1s. Generate six scores. If the total is below 72 or above 82, reroll the full array. Rolls must be made with the DM present. Standard Array may be chosen instead after rolling. • 2024 Gambler’s: Roll six sets of 2d10, with a combined total between 64 and 88. Rolls must be made with the DM present. Standard Array may be chosen instead. • Point Buy: Standard 27-point buy. • Standard Array: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8. Hit Dice use the fixed value unless the group elects to roll. Any rolling must be done with the DM present. APPROVED SOURCES • Player’s Handbook (2024) • Player’s Handbook (2014), only for approved legacy classes or subclasses • Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything • Xanathar’s Guide to Everything • Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse • Eberron: Rising from the Last War, Artificer and select species with approval • Ravenloft: The Horrors Within If a source is not listed, it is not approved. Availability in D&D Beyond does not constitute approval. Not permitted: Unearthed Arcana/playtest material, unapproved homebrew, unapproved third-party or partnered content, unofficial 2014-to-2024 conversions, Critical Role/Wildemount content, unofficial internet-sourced material, options I do not own or cannot review, and options that cannot reasonably be maintained in Foundry. Some options require individual approval, particularly setting-specific material, companion or summon-heavy subclasses, broad item/object creation, options needing extensive custom automation, or choices that significantly affect encounter balance or campaign management. Twilight Domain, Peace Domain, Circle of the Shepherd, College of Creation, and necromancy builds with multiple controlled creatures require approval. PLAYER-CREATED HOMEBREW Homebrew must be reviewed and explicitly approved before use. Revisions may be required for balance, setting compatibility, automation, or campaign management. BACKSTORY Characters also receive a Kanka biography entry using the campaign template. Bullet points are fine, and you may provide as much or as little detail as you like. The goal is to give me useful material for relationships, goals, history, and other hooks that can become part of the campaign.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
BEFORE YOUR FIRST SESSION • Join the campaign Discord server. Discord is used for voice chat, announcements, scheduling, campaign information, and troubleshooting. • Make sure you have access to Foundry VTT and can connect to the campaign server before game time. Foundry runs in your web browser and does not require you to purchase a license. • Use a computer with a stable internet connection and a working microphone. Headphones are strongly recommended to prevent echo and background audio from feeding back into voice chat. • Complete your character creation and backstory requirements before your first session. D&D Beyond is used for initial creation and leveling, while Foundry contains the authoritative character sheet used during play. • Review the campaign rules, character guidelines, and safety information available in Discord and Kanka. BEFORE EACH SESSION Please arrive a few minutes early so there is time to connect to Discord, load Foundry, and resolve any technical problems before the scheduled start time. If something in Foundry is not working correctly, please post the issue in the campaign’s troubleshooting channel rather than waiting until the next session. This gives me a chance to investigate and correct it before game time.
What Luvac Zantor brings to the table
WHAT I PROVIDE • A fully configured Foundry VTT campaign with detailed maps, dynamic lighting, visual effects, ambient sound, music, and extensive rules automation. • Character sheets that are configured and maintained for Foundry. I handle imports, automation, corrections, custom features, and technical issues so players can focus on playing their characters rather than maintaining the VTT. • A persistent campaign Discord for announcements, scheduling, rules questions, troubleshooting, and conversation between sessions. • A Kanka campaign site containing character biographies, locations, NPCs, organizations, campaign lore, and other reference material that grows as the campaign progresses. CAMPAIGN STYLE This is not a straight read-through of the published adventure. Vecna: Eve of Ruin provides the foundation, but character backgrounds, relationships, unresolved history, and decisions made during play are incorporated into the campaign. Expect a mixture of roleplay, investigation, exploration, and tactical combat. Some situations reward careful observation and questioning just as much as combat ability. Choices have consequences, NPCs remember what happens, and unresolved threads can return later. Combat uses Foundry automation to keep complicated mechanics moving quickly, but automation does not replace DM adjudication. I generally follow the written rules while resolving unusual situations according to the circumstances of the scene rather than allowing software limitations to dictate the game. CHARACTER-DRIVEN STORY Players who provide character history give me material I can use to build personal story arcs alongside the main campaign. These arcs develop from what happens during play rather than following predetermined outcomes. Your decisions determine how those stories develop and whether particular relationships, mysteries, or unresolved pieces of your past are pursued. BETWEEN SESSIONS I maintain campaign continuity, session records, character information, and technical configuration between games. When something breaks in Foundry or a feature is not working correctly, I investigate it and, when practical, repair or automate it before the next session.
Homebrew rules
HOUSE RULES • This campaign uses milestone advancement rather than experience points. • Fate Coins / Fate Dice are a persistent campaign resource. When a Fate option affects a roll, it must be declared before the roll is made. Fate cannot be spent retroactively after seeing the result. • Hit points use the fixed value when leveling unless the campaign group elects to roll. Any hit-point rolling is done with the DM present. • Foundry automation is a tool, not the final authority on the rules. If an automated result conflicts with the applicable rule or a campaign ruling, the result will be corrected. • Situations not clearly covered by the rules are adjudicated by the DM based on the circumstances of the scene. Consistent rulings may be established as campaign rules when necessary.

How Luvac Zantor creates a safe table
SAFETY & COMFORT This campaign contains mature fantasy themes, including violence, death, murder, mind control, body horror, and gore. These themes may appear during play, but player comfort takes priority over presenting a scene exactly as written. Players are encouraged to communicate any boundaries, concerns, or topics they would prefer to avoid. These can be discussed openly or sent to me privately through Discord or StartPlaying. If something during a session becomes uncomfortable, say so at any time. We can stop, skip ahead, change the details, or fade the scene to black. You do not need to justify why something is uncomfortable. Real-world harassment, discrimination, sexual harassment, or deliberately making another player uncomfortable is not acceptable. Breaks are available whenever needed. Stepping away from the table briefly is always acceptable. If you need to leave a session because of the content or for personal reasons, let me know when you are able. The goal is a mature game where dark or disturbing material can exist without requiring anyone at the table to participate in content they do not want.
