About the adventure

The small town of Grayce has been having some problems as of late, and maybe—just maybe—a group of plucky adventurers are the solution. Slaughtered sheep, broken machinery, missing belongings, and even a baker suddenly skipping town have disturbed what should be an otherwise quiet community. Then, as if things weren't strange enough, a massive sinkhole opened in the middle of the town square. Something is clearly wrong in Grayce, and someone needs to figure out what. What begins as a series of local mysteries will eventually grow into something far larger. Beyond Grayce lies Ustalav, a land infamous for its ghosts, curses, and haunted ruins. Among its darkest legends is Bastardhall, an abandoned castle whose mysteries have claimed countless people over the centuries. Florin Kindler has a personal reason to seek the truth: her parents were lost after an encounter with the Black Coach of Bastardhall, and she has spent years searching for answers about what happened to them. This will be a large, long-form Pathfinder campaign combining multiple adventures into a single connected story. The campaign will begin with the comparatively lighthearted troubles of Grayce before expanding into exploration, investigation, dangerous journeys, and eventually full-fledged gothic horror as the party becomes entangled in the mysteries surrounding Bastardhall. Expect plenty of roleplay, recurring NPCs, mysteries to uncover, strange locations to explore, and choices that can carry consequences from one adventure into the next. Whether you're here to solve mysteries, become attached to a town full of colorful characters, explore the wider world of Golarion, or discover exactly what waits behind the doors of one of Ustalav's most infamous haunted castles, the goal is to make this feel like one continuous adventure rather than a collection of disconnected stories. Grayce is only the beginning. I'm looking for players who enjoy investing in their characters and working together to tell a compelling story. Whether you're brand new to Pathfinder 2e or a seasoned veteran, everyone is welcome as long as you're willing to collaborate, engage with the world, and help create a fun experience for everyone at the table. We'll use Foundry VTT and Discord, with a Session 0 to discuss expectations, safety tools, and build characters together before the adventure begins.

About me

I've always loved the creativity and storytelling that comes with running games. For me, it’s not just about the game mechanics but the worlds, characters, and stories we can build together. I know it can sometimes be tough to find a game that’s open to new players or one that feels welcoming and fair. That's why I want to create a space where anyone can jump in and feel like they’re part of something special. My goal is to keep things inclusive and flexible, giving everyone a fair shot at the table and a place to tell their stories, no matter their experience level.

What Irwin brings to the table

. A Cinematic Playstyle — I focus on immersive roleplay, vivid scene-setting, and making the city feel alive. Expect detailed descriptions, mythic imagery, and a strong noir atmosphere. Character Voices & NPC Depth — Every NPC has a distinct personality, voice, and motivation, so interactions feel organic and memorable. The Rule of Cool — If you come up with something creative, thematic, and cinematic, I’ll work with you to make it happen — even if it means bending the rules a bit. Collaborative Mystery Solving — This isn’t a GM vs. players game. The story is built together through your clues, theories, and decisions. FoundryVTT Setup — All maps, tokens, character sheets, and handouts are prepared in Foundry for a smooth, visually engaging experience. Clear Communication — Discord for voice chat and session coordination, so everyone stays connected before, during, and after play.

How Irwin creates a safe table

Session 0 – We’ll begin with a Session 0 to align expectations, introduce characters, and establish campaign themes. During this session, we’ll review Lines and Veils, discuss potential content sensitivities, and use the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist to ensure everyone is comfortable with the themes and scenarios we might encounter. This session sets the tone for collaboration, creating a shared understanding of each player’s boundaries and interests. Lines and Veils – I’ll provide a shared digital document where players can specify their Lines (content that is not to appear at all) and Veils (content that can appear but only off-screen or with limited focus). This document will be available for updates at any point, and it allows for transparent communication to ensure everyone feels safe and respected throughout the campaign. Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist – I’ll distribute the checklist digitally prior to Session 0, allowing players to review and indicate their comfort levels with various themes, such as violence, mind control, or other potentially sensitive content. This helps tailor the game to player comfort and provides a clear baseline of what content is welcomed, limited, or avoided. X, N, and O Cards – In our digital game sessions, players will have access to a digital tool or chat function to signal X (stop), N (pause and discuss), or O (proceed/enjoy). This allows for real-time feedback on content during sessions. If anyone feels uncomfortable, they can privately message me or use the X card to skip or modify content as needed.
