About the adventure
The work is dangerous. The pay is questionable. The ale is cheap. Welcome to life as a mercenary. In this campaign, the party works as a company of adventurers-for-hire taking whatever jobs keep food on the table and steel in their hands. One week you might hunt a troll in the hills. The next you could be guarding a caravan, exploring haunted ruins, dealing with gang wars, surviving political disasters, or accidentally unleashing something ancient and terrible for a very reasonable fee. Each session is built like its own mini-adventure, making the game easy to jump into even if players miss a week. Characters level after every session, allowing the campaign to steadily evolve from desperate rookies to seasoned veterans with legendary reputations. Outside the missions, players can spend their hard-earned coin building a tavern, upgrading a headquarters, recruiting followers, or establishing a mercenary stronghold that grows alongside the party. The world will react to your success, your failures, and the reputation your company earns across the realm. This game is ideal for players who enjoy action, roleplay, character progression, worldbuilding, and a more relaxed drop-in style campaign without the pressure of a massive ongoing main storyline.

About me
Hey all! My name is Alex (or iceman, it has been my nickname since I was little kid annnnddd maybe I will have you role a history check to figure out why lol) and I fell in love with DnD! This is actually a pretty recent development for me as for my first DnD session was only a couple of years ago. However, once I played, I was instantly hooked! I have always played DnD games in the past like the original Baldur's Gate on PC, Neverwinter Nights, and Divinity. However, it was a new but incredible experience playing the game as a tabletop game and I could not wait to continue playing. There is a lot for me to learn, no doubt, and that is one of the reasons why I want to be a DM. What better way to really dive into a game, learn the lore and to get involved with the DnD community than to run them! I will make mistakes for sure, but I will always prioritize your fun. You may even be able to sneak some moves past my watchful eye but to be honest, I look forward to those moments. I think clever out of the box ideas is what makes this game fun and I will reward you instead of trying to find ways to reverse them. Overall, I am excited for you to join my table and for us to go on adventures. I will do my best to give you an awesome, exhilarating experience every time we have a session. I will throw in some cool homebrew options throughout the campaign and encourage side quests for your characters to help build your background. Lastly, I am always here to listen to any suggestions or ideas to add to our campaign. So without further adieu, once you are ready to join let me know, and we can get started!

What Iceman (Alex) brings to the table
## What I Provide as a GM I aim to create cinematic, immersive adventures that balance danger, creativity, humor, and memorable moments. Every contract is designed to feel like its own complete story while still contributing to the growth of your mercenary company and the world around you. This game will be run through Foundry VTT with animated maps, spell effects, ambient environments, interactive elements, animated tokens, music, and dynamic lighting to help bring the world to life. Whether you’re fighting through a burning tavern, sneaking through cursed ruins, or defending a caravan during a thunderstorm, I want the game to feel alive and cinematic. I absolutely do character voices… or at least I try my best. Some NPCs will sound intimidating, others ridiculous, and some accidentally become fan favorites because of a terrible accent. I lean heavily into roleplay, memorable NPC interactions, and giving players opportunities to create hilarious or emotional moments naturally at the table. My GM style focuses on challenging players while rooting for them to succeed. Combat can be tactical and dangerous, and choices matter, but I am not trying to “beat” the party. I want players to think creatively, use the environment, come up with ridiculous plans, and embrace the chaos that makes tabletop games special. Clever thinking is often just as valuable as a strong character sheet. Expect a healthy mix of Rules as Written and Rule of Cool. I generally follow the rules to keep the game fair and grounded, but if something cinematic, clever, or hilarious makes the moment better, I’m usually willing to work with it. If you want to swing from a chandelier onto a troll, negotiate with a monster mid-combat, or solve a problem in an unexpected way, I will probably encourage it. Homebrew content is welcome and encouraged within reason. This includes subclasses, items, mechanics, character concepts, and unique progression ideas. I enjoy rewarding players with interesting magic items, company upgrades, custom boons, and narrative rewards that help make characters feel unique over time. Most importantly, this is meant to be a fun, low-pressure campaign built around great moments, flexibility, and telling awesome stories together — even if the party accidentally burns down the tavern they were trying to renovate.
