About me

I plan my campaigns carefully while staying flexible enough to follow player ideas and let the story evolve naturally at the table. My focus is on creating a fun, immersive experience where player choices matter. I use Roll20 along with curated audio and visual aids to support the game without overwhelming it. I have a creative writing background, and I run fast, fluid combat that keeps momentum high and avoids unnecessary slog. Session Zero is a collaborative space where we’ll talk about your character, motivations, and backstory so the story can meaningfully react to you. I also make sure everyone—new or experienced—feels comfortable with Roll20 and combat flow before the campaign begins. My goal is a table that feels focused, welcoming, and worth your time. Expect roleplay-forward sessions, clear rulings, and a table that respects everyone’s time.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can absolutely set up a free DND Beyond account to be able to utilize your character sheet. All it would require is you setting up a Level 5 character and I can also help you through the Discord make a character with quirks that are fun to play for you. I am all about making sure everyone loves the character they are inhabiting.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Once you set up your character in DND Beyond, I shall add you to the Alchemy server (also free to use) for the campaign that will provide us with the visual elements of your surroundings in the story and utilize Discord for the audio cues, music and ambience as well as the chat function. So all you need is a computer, a mic, and character ideas once I add you to the Discord

What CoreyQuest brings to the table

-NPCs are randomly assembled with unique personality types -Each location is different, and players are absolutely allowed to explore the area which allows me to throw surprises or interesting opportunities for players -This is a rule of cool campaign which means each kill or action will be absolutely hyped up to make you look awesome depending on the context and if you are able to roll successfully. -During character set up, I will ask you about your backstory and make it part of the campaign so everyone has a reason to be there and things from the past or present that can make things go right or wrong. -Theatre of the Mind Roleplaying: you may not see every NPC's face but I will absolutely elaborate on their appearance and interesting things around the location. -Rich Background Art with Alchemy: Using found art, I create the backdrop for the adventure's location -Whisper Channel in Discord: You can read Elvish? Good, looks like I will tell you what that says and you can tell the others...or not. Keep details to yourself or share them, depends on the situation. Total table immersion -Twists and turns: As the DM I am here to make the journey exciting or chaotic, I will work behind the scenes to make your quest a piece of cake...until it isn't. -The recap: I will take notes and save them in Alchemy for your reference and also every session will have a random NPC giving a recap on what happened with the party. -The vote: I will create polls that will determine what direction the party wants to take to find the next clue based on my suggestions. We put it up to a vote in the Discord.

Homebrew rules

Combat is all about rule of cool, so you don't have to worry about the math. Your HP as a player is extremely important but low level enemies are pretty much tissue paper to you unless there is a lot of them.

Safety

How CoreyQuest creates a safe table

You can use your whisper channel in Discord to communicate directly to me only without other people seeing the message if uncomfortable and Alchemy provides the X, N, and O cards as well. The Discord server has a rule set to make sure everyone enjoys the game. Also we take one to two chill breaks every session
