About the adventure
This will be a variant of Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, where every villain will be in play, and there are more heists. Credit where it's due, I'm using parts of the Alexandrian Remix, although if you don't know what that is, don't look it up until after you've played the game! I lean heavy into roleplay and combat, and I have a pretty strong improvisational ability so I appreciate big swings if it makes sense in the moment. Whether you're experienced or new I take all comers, as long as we can all agree to the rules at session 0.

About me
I'm a dungeon master of 8 years, and have been playing dnd for 9 years. Outside of D&D, I do voice acting, animation, writing, editing, basically anything involved in video production. I also design game systems for my home table as a hobby and paint miniatures.

Creating your character
During session 0 the players will create characters together. They should work to have a connection with at least 1 or more player characters as to help party cohesion early on. We'll be rolling stats, but you can use standard array or point buy if you wish. Everyone who rolls for stats will roll 1 array, and the best array among those will be used for anyone who wishes to use it. Rolling will be done with 4d6 drop the lowest, reroll 1s. We'll be running the system using the 2014 character creation rules, but if there is something you like better in the 2024 rules ask and we can discuss using that element. Stick to the PHB, Xanathar's, Tasha's, Monsters of the Multiverse/Volo's Guide, and any expansion that is specific to the forgotten realms. The game will be run through Foundry, so the character sheets will be stored there and that's where dice will be rolled.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll be using Foundry VTT which requires a computer to access, and discord for voice chat.
What Ben brings to the table
I will be doing voices, occasionally I might produce custom art for characters, NPCs, etc. I will use battle maps on FoundryVTT. Combat will be played mostly as written but I might throw in some harder versions of the same monster depending on how strong the party is. I tend to stick to the rules as written, but am open to the rule of cool.
Homebrew rules
-Critical hits do rolled damage+max roll instead of roll damage twice. -Bonus action to drink potion lets you roll for health, but drinking as an action heals the full amount the potion allows for. -Nat 20 on a saving throw means you take no damage, but nat 1 means you take the full damage the dice could do. -You can spend half of your movement to make a perception, investigation, or insight check instead of moving.

How Ben creates a safe table
A content consent form will be sent out via the discord for players to fill out in a form fillable PDF. In session 0 I will ask out loud if there are any topics people aren't comfortable with to explicitly make sure it's been said to the group.
