About the adventure

The sea remembers. The city of Khaleesset floats above the bones of twelve older settlements the water claimed in the centuries that came before. Her people have built their lives salvaging their recent and long forgotten past through items known as Echo Pearls; magical items that have recorded the last sounds around people that drowned beneath the waves. As of late, an already treacherous sea has turned even worse; no new Tide-Singer has survived the trial of their naming and the people were already calling it a terrible omen before seven seasoned divers went down into the Deep below and never resurfaced. Then the tune started. Your characters arrive in Khaleesset planning to dive into the water; maybe you planned to dive for money, maybe for the promise of forgotten knowledge, maybe for study. What you find is a city on the verge of panic; The Salvage Guilds are paying well for help. The Drowned-Speakers, dismissed as mad by everyone, insist they already know something. The young and reckless Depth-Watchers are paying anyone willing to go down with them to seek answers. Somewhere beneath the waterline, in cities that sank one at a time across centuries, something is listening. The system we will be using is Pathfinder 2e (I am using Foundry VTT), but you don't need to already know the system to join! I'll help newer players get comfortable with their characters and at the table. This is game is meant to be roleplay heavy, where the player character actions and choices may have deep and dire consequences. If you are looking for a game with interesting mechanics, extensive lore building and the personal development of your character, I would love to have you at my table. If enjoy things such as: drowned-city cosmic horror, mystery that rewards curiosity, rewards for being engaged in the lore, and a GM who already knows exactly what's waiting down there, why don't you come sit?

About me

Hi! I'm Raih. I've been GMing for several years, but the first world I created lived in my head long before I ever sat behind a GM screen. It began as a novel I thought I might someday publish, but something never quite clicked until my friends became the characters living inside it. Once that happened, I never looked back. Worldbuilding is one of my favorite parts of running games. I love worlds that feel alive: NPCs with their own agendas, places with histories that began long before the party arrived, mysteries with answers waiting beneath the surface, and consequences that continue unfolding after the characters move on. But I don't treat lore as something players are merely invited to observe. My games are collaborative. If the party becomes fascinated by something I only sketched loosely, we'll build it together. If a character's choices send the story somewhere unexpected, I'll follow them. The world belongs to me when I prepare it; once we begin playing, the story belongs to all of us. My games are roleplay- and character-driven, with exploration, mystery, and tactical combat woven in where they matter. I love watching players theorize about lore, become attached to NPCs, make terrible plans for excellent reasons, and choose what their character would genuinely do even when the tactically optimal answer is staring them in the face. If you want a living world, meaningful character development, choices that matter, and a GM who is genuinely excited to discover what you do next, you'll fit right in.

Character creation

Creating your character

You can use Pathbuilder from the very start! And you are free to have as many drafts as you like, that being said I want to sit down with everyone to hammer out the last few details and change or adapt builds if needed, as well as to weave in your character in the larger tapestry of the world. We are starting at level four and using the Free Archetype variant rule.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I shall send invites to my discord server where the table will have their own secret channel per player, as well as a general channel where you can all discuss and chat, and where I post relevant lore. We are using Foundry, so an account is not needed as you access through a browser such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Never used Foundry before? No worries! I'm here to help.

What Raih brings to the table

I am a DM who focuses primarily on story telling, world building and I open the door widely to your own character development and impact on the stories I weave. I enjoy creating atmospheric moments using visuals, descriptions and music. I try to keep my combats interesting and dynamic as much as I am able, and while I respect the rules (most of the time!) I embrace the rule of cool if my players are creative. I enjoy creating my own maps, so many if not most of them will be done by me as well.

Homebrew rules

I start my sessions with two hero points, I award Hero Points like candy when my players engage with lore or do cool things, and I also award Hero Points for my note takers. I give Two Weapon Flurry as a level 1 feat instead of 14 for my two weapon fighting fighters and rogues. Combat maneuvers such as disarm, trip, grapple, shove do not count towards your MAP. I am also willing to adapt other rules if my players present a good argument.

Safety

How Raih creates a safe table

I will go over my safety tools during session 0, especially elements that may be triggering. I do not ask that you disclose what sensitive topics you have openly, and for this reason I have made an anonymous survey for Lines and Veils and sensitive content you can fill out. My pre-established lines and veils are already mentioned in both my player guide message and the survey itself and I am very open to adding more in my players need it down the road.
